firebox.com is a very good website, though there are some....adult gifts on there.

I got all of my Christmas presents from there last year. Literally every single one... The downside to that being I can't do the same this year xD

I find a lot of their stuff to be utterly pointless though, which is fine, but not at those prices..

 

I already have 90% of my Christmas shopping done this year. I had it all done last month. Not because I'm really excited for Christmas, just because I had extra cash and was stuck waiting for things to come back in stock last year and can't be fussed with doing that lot again. They're all wrapped up now and they'll just sit there until December.

 

Contrary to what having all my presents sorted might look like, I'm actually not much of a Christmas person. I don't bother putting up decorations, I don't care for Christmas music or awful jumpers, and the only reason I bother with Christmas dinner is because I know my Mum likes to have us all there. Admittedly I do like giving gifts, though it's not something I tend to do too often.

One of the ladies from Reprographics says she's going to glitter bomb my desk as I'm all bah-humbug... If she does I might just have to open a bottle of printer toner over hers. Fair's fair and all? :D

I've got most of the presents sorted for nieces and nephews (well family member bought them for me as they were cheap), just one more to sort and presents for parents at some point. Will probably get something from Amazon for them and just get it all delivered to parents as that's where I'm spending Christmas.

Come on guys - you are usually pretty good at finding me a present for mrwITch. I need inspiration this year :)

One thing that every man needs is a camera that doesn't make phone calls. I would personally recommend a Pentax LX - mine is 35 years old and still terrific. You should be able to find one in your budget. You *might* find a Leica M3 body in that range too, but lenses would push the price up beyond that. A Minox B would be a nice present too (are you listening Santa?) although carrying the office desk and lamp around to use it is damn inconvenient :)

I've treated myself to an early Christmas present. A Chromecast Audio.

I was toying with the idea of some kind of streaming Hi-Fi, like a Sonos system, but balked at the price. The Audio version of the Chromecast is £30, and will plug into exisiting Hi-Fis.

 

It hasn't arrived yet, hopefully it will be good. I'll let you know.

Forget about Christmas, its Star Wars 1st!! I will get excited about Christmas (actually I won't as I haven't been for at least 10 years, ever since we discussed the Death Penalty at the dinner table one Christmas.....) after I have been to the midnight release of star wars.

Okay, so I need to get something else for my mum. I find her very difficult to buy for anyway because, like me, she doesn't drop hints often and tends to buy anything she wants herself.

 

Alas, the camera-shaped usb stick that was supposed to be 16GB turned out to be 14GB, of which 1.5GB was corrupted.. So obviously fraudulently sized. So that got reported to Amazon. It was only something small, and not her main present but still..

 

So yeah... She's Fifty.. Nearly? I think? I'm awful with birthdays.. Big photography buff. Likes cute stuff and cats.

 

Price range is about £30-40

is she very good at photography? What about a photography day with an expert? (might be a bit expensive.)

Or a book by a famous photographer? What sort of cute stuff?

She's a professional wedding photographer. So yeah I'd say she's pretty good lol. I dunno what cute stuff? Um. Cats? I guess? She has thee of them. Teddy bears, but she's got a lot of them now, I worry it might seem a bit generic and not thought out?

@Dos_Box You sir, are a gentleman and a scholar! Telescope ordered - and there are various accessories for the children to buy to go with it. Remind me to hug you at BETT :hug:

 

No ideas for the children yet - perhaps I should mention that my sons are 27 and 25 and my daughter is 23 (so probably not lego)
