Hi

Not sure if this is the correct area to post this, if not please move it...

I have a number of Toshiba R50 laptops and am having issues with the screen brightness on them, is it possible to configure a gpo to set the brightness to 100%?

I have the same Toshiba R50 Laptops, for some reason, it allows you to reduce the brightness, but now increase it. So kids come and think the screen is broke. Edited by smithson83

If it's the same problem I was experiencing it can be solved by going into Control Panel / Power Options / Advanced Options (for current plan) / Graphics or Display - change from balanced to full power (performance).

Apologies if those instructions were not entirely accurate but I'm not in front of one of those laptops at present.

Let me know if that solves it.

Edit: It could have actually have been something labelled "Intel ..." under the aforementioned power options.

Never used it (so may not work) but in Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\System\Power Management\Video and Display Settings\ you can specify display brightness options.

I changed the brightness and power settings to stop it auto dimming, but as far as a fix, users can still reduce the screen brightness, but the kids are normally rather good on that sie!
