I'm so unsure about this coming back. I loved The X-Files and part of me wonders if it's better left in nostalgia

Let's hope it manages to pull it off. My daughter who is 11 is getting into the original series (I have three in box sets) :)

I really hope this ends up being good. I have all of them on DVD so might have to convince my Mrs to do a binge watch over the next few months in preparation :) Ashamed to admit that I have never seen the last 3 seasons of xfiles despite having owned them on DVD for a good 10-15ish years.

Don't forget it's on Channel 5 Tuesday the 9th Feb at 20:30

Saw the first one a couple of weeks back. Haven't been moved to watch the second yet. Not rubbish, but not the triumphant return I was hoping for.

tombs!?

It is, but other than being pictured in a photograph he hasn't made an appearance so far.

After watching the third episode of the new series I doubt he will.

How awesome was episode 3? I've always liked the roles Rhys Darby has played (particularly in Flight of the Conchords), he played his human character perfectly.

I wasn't that hardcore a fan to get all the easter eggs in the episode, but the ringtone on Mulder's phone was nice!

Started to watch from the beginning again on Prime, story and writing is still (somewhat) believable but its amazing how badly its aged. The episode with the computer... wow that was bad!

I am enjoying immensely however :)

Assuming we all watched on Monday... what did we think?

If we mean Episode 1, I found it broadly enjoyable if a bit all over the shop. Luckily I'm not one of those people who can remember the minutiae of TV shows, as I strongly suspect that a lot of stuff doesn't fit in with previous episodes. Having seen the first ep it's nowhere near the top of my shows to watch, and I can see the rest staying on the DVR for a while yet.

Completely agree. Was all over the place had a lot to bring into ep 1 for an iconic series. But enjoyable to learn what we learned all in one ep, if all a bit too easy and convenient. It needs to slow down a bit yet keep the pace up so we do not get frustrated with stand out episodes like before.
