I still follow quite a few of the internet personalities that used to be Call of Duty pros in the good old days (if there's such a thing), and on their recommendation and with some considerable peer pressure from my mate, I bought CoD: WW2 for the PC.

And everyone who I'm playing against online seem to be professionals. It's so tough to get kills! The best fun I had (and surprisingly, the games I got the best kill to death ratio in) was when I was running around with a shotgun...

And it seems hackers are already a thing, not a week after launch. I'll give it another go tonight but I'm not sure it's going to hold my attention for long. Oh well, sometimes you have to put your hands up and admit to burning money...

Yup, got a surprising amount of kills with the shotgun and using the incendiary shells, namely on the USS Texas map in the middle.

It was actually quite fun! Reminded me of my time with the shotguns in Black Ops 2, where you could charge and hop around the map and had to tap ADS for half a second to tighten the shotgun blast. I think the incendiary shells are a little cheap, but a lot of the time, it doesn't kill them outright.

I need to find out how to get an unscoped bolt action rifle, since I found one lying around in a game last night... I loved those in World at War back in the day!

got an xbox one x last night and spent all evening transferring crud lol.

So it would let me use network transfer to take stuff from the external drive id moved to the x to my old console but wouldnt allow me to transfer stuff from the old ones internal drive to the xs internal drive in the end i had to dig out a usb hdd and dump the 80gb or so that way then copy it back off at the other end which when its 120 odd items and for instance how halo 5 supports 4k its 106gb! it takes a while so ive not played a single game on it yet all ive done is copy data and sync my pro controller. Think i may need a permanent big external drive if thats going to be the size of 4k games (current external is a 750 ssd)

on the plus side its quite a bit smaller than a launch xbox one and no power brick (yet the box is bigger) and it weight a tonne now to hope theres some decent 4k tvs on sale for black friday (chicken and egg no point having a 4k tv without a source no point having a source without a tv)

and just to be really anoying i think the next game i want to get to is the dlc for zero dawn anyway lol

Just completed Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice

Wow.. Just.. Wow.

Genuinely amazing game. Good puzzles, fluid combat, and some Norse mythology thrown in for good measure. An extremely delicate subject matter* that is explored both gracefully and without ridicule.

£24.99 on Steam. 100% worth it.

Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice on Steam

* The protagonist has psychosis, but I'll not go into further detail because spoilers.

still playing through ghost recon wildlands now on my onex. Not as good as the pcs version even comparing 1080 to 1080 (dont have a 4k tv) there is still more texture pop and you can see things appearing but its not an xbox game built for the onex id hope assassins creed has less/none of that as that is supposed to be. But it is better than on the standard launch xbox one

Got to a stealth mission last night spent over an hour trying to get into a base easy photo some stuff (harder as theres always guards in the room) and getting out (seldom got to it). gave up came back later and it was dark (and all the guards were asleep in bed)got in photod what i needed to and just drove out in one of their own trucks in ~3 mins lol. But as im now past the level cap im getting a different type of level and its already bumped me up to advanced difficulty (i did that to get a cool sniper rifle that i managed to get a 407m head shot with achievement 400m)) but i think ive got as good as im going to now and not sure if increasing the difficulty will make the game less fun

Playing through Assassin's Creed: Origins.

I feel this particular installation of the AC series feels more like the Mad Max game. Not a bad thing (as I loved that).

it's so satisfying getting a kill at distance in that game, I was quite proud of the moment I pulled this off, don't think it was a head shot but still.

that was with the HTI, that wasn't in a combat situation, that was me going out intentionally to get a 1km shot, you have to get in position where you can see their markers (around 500m from memory) and then stay scoped in on the target while walking backwards to the distance then aim way above their head and hope they don't move in the 2 seconds or so it takes for the bullet to arrive.

Took me a couple of hours to get it and the Salt flats are your friend here.

It's so much more fun playing with other people instead of the AI and that inevitable moment when someone misses their shot and the second or 2 of panic wondering if the alarm is going to go off or if they manage make good on a follow up shot, I've been playing the 4v4 PvP mode a lot recently with my mrs and a mate of mine so if you fancy playing add me on xbox (same username as on here)

I'd given up on PvP too after The Division left me shouting and swearing at the screen but I have to say the PvP in Wildlands is nothing like that, both teams are working on a strategy to try and take out all the other team from distance without being detected so in that respect it's a lot like the co-op mode except the other team are a lot harder to spot, a single round can last 15 minutes which is a long time considering each player only has one life unless a teammate can revive them without getting themselves shot.

lol my Mrs runs and hides as soon as the round starts, I don't think she even has a single kill and she's never been booted, honestly if you play the same way as you play the campaign you'd be fine.

Got given Destiny 2 on XB1 as an early bday present.

I like it. Story quite short, though there are loads of other things to do with the game past the main story. Will probably invest in the DLC at some point I would imagine.

at the moment as the difficulty bump seems to basically mean you get shot you die rather than it taking a few. it seems to go walks round corner/door etc gets shots waits for team mate to pick me up repeat lol. i even took 1 base by jsut using the drone and getting the ai to take em all out for me lol

left my 3ds downloading pokemon ultra moon hopefully this will be the alst game i play on my 3ds before it can go in the retired pile and the food games end up on switch vc

Casual hack-'n'-slash (with some RTS) set in an extremely-exaggerated, over-the-top rock culture fantasy setting. It would be cringey if the comedy weren't so self-aware and it plays being a parody well. Would recommend. Definitely worth it for nowt.

Selling point 1: Written by Tim Schafer.

Selling point 2: Main character voiced by Jack Black.

'tis gold.
