I got further than ever before in Stellaris recently, in Iron Man mode, and then made a stupid judgment call and lost my entire fleet. With EVE - I've decided to try going down the "ninja WH mining" and manufacture route. See how I get on. I don't have the time for a big corporation focused game any more, so am playing a lot more casually. Also, damn it looks good lately. DX11 has been kind on that game!! Yeah same thing happened to me, I got annihilated about 8 hours into my save.. I couldn't have done much to change the outcome though! I need to hit you up on EVE, weirdly enough I'm only doing solo WH stuff as well at the moment! purely data/relic sites currently though. Might join a small WH corp at one point.

Oh, and Red Dead Redemption 2 in 2018, because who's ever heard of a PC version, amirite?! The ONLY reason I'm not content with just my PC now is RDR2. I was getting itchy about buying one every time I saw news about Forza Horizon 3 before release but seeing as I have that on PC now I was happy. But as you say there is no mention of RDR2 for PC yet :'( And I will HAVE to play that after the first one is like my favourite game ever.

Yeah, I need to play RDR2 as well, and whilst I hope Rockstar have learned their lesson that making a PC version is worth it after GTA V, I'll be just as happy playing it on the Xbox One. I'm really intrigued to see how far they go with the Xbox Anywhere thing - I really doubt they'd make the next Halo game fully available on PC, for example. That being said, I thought that about Gears of War and Forza.

Oh, and Red Dead Redemption 2 in 2018, because who's ever heard of a PC version, amirite?! im almost at the point of giving up on the xbox ecosystem. so far i think ive used it this year for maybe 10 hours (depends if shantae was this/last year) but all i can remember playing on it is a bit of forza horizons 3 blizzard mountain/hot wheels and 90 mins of ff15 before i gave that game up as terrible. ive played more hours on my ps4 since april than i have probably total ever and the rest of my gaming has been zelda/mk8d on my switch until this weekend when i dusted off teh 3ds for fire emblem echos (see below for a complaint lol). I cant see anything upcoming for the xbox i really want see of thieves looks cool for a few hours but like overwatch i doubt i will get it as its online only and i must cba theres too many "poor sports" out there for online to be fun and theres bound to be a forza 7 near Christmas and tbh i dont care about that much anymore ill wait till its on sale in probably march at the latest. I think looking at the release calendar i might be moving my main machine over to switch with splatoon2 in july and i have to assume stuff being announced at e3 and the zelda dlc playing fire emblem echoes last night well thats an annoying way of funnelling you in the "story direction" recruits 3 new units (2 pegasus knights which are my favourite units to use) and i decide i will just make a diversion to visit a shrine to promote some units and after the battle they up and leave my party cue me thinking oh f do i have to go back to my last non current save file (8 hours behind) surely it could pop up a dialogue box before the battle saying are you sure you want to do this. luckily ive managed to get them back but thats not a fun mechanic but on the plus side im now slightly over levelled lol

Definitely worth the money tho. its easy to get addicted to i put 170+ hours into it 2 playthroughs (diddnt quite finish the last one i rage quit as i got to the end where you are no longer able to do certain actions of which i had 2 left i believe to 100% parts of the game for the trophy (and they are ones i wanted to do) but i couldnt face doing a 3rd playthrough back to back to back one day i will finish playthrough 2 and start again lol) it does get quicker on new game plus as i skipped quite a lot of cutscenes and random crud keep debating horizon zero dawn and its apparently on sale from the 9th but ive still yet to complete fire emblem echoes im in act 5 but im lost in a dungeon 4 teleporters to try to get where im going tried 2 got nowhere and i had enough of back tracking lol

sted Posted June 11, 2017 Posted June 11, 2017 got horizon zero dawn on friday and started it this morning. Initial impressions are its stuck in uncanny valley territory every time you see a character speak its creepy, as always for me stealth is a bit annoying took me about 3/4 attempts at a tutorial due to. To be honest it just feels like the last tomb raider game but reskinned not that thats a bad thing as i really liked the last 2 tomb raider games the fact ou start with a bow probably explains that i barely used owt else in tomb raider. biggest negative is how noisy my ps4 gets when playing it sounds like a jet engine lol
DeGrimmy Posted June 12, 2017 Posted June 12, 2017 Anyone been following the E3 press conferences over the last couple of days? EA, Xbox and Bethesda (and Devolver Digital, if you're interested) have so far had their conferences. EA was mostly sports, as always, although they did reveal BioWare's latest effort, called Anthem. More was revealed about it and some gameplay shown at the Xbox conference, and it looks a bit like if Destiny and Titanfall had a baby. Looks really interesting! Xbox's conference was about the Xbox One X, the official name for Project Scorpio, but they showed off a fair few games too. Looks like they're really building up their array of games. Bethesda announced a new Wolfenstein game and The Evil Within 2, although that conference started at 5am and I wasn't staying up for that!
localzuk Posted June 12, 2017 Posted June 12, 2017 I've been unimpressed really. The Xbox One X looks good, as does the new Wolfenstein game (gotta love over the top Nazi killing shoot em ups), but that's about all that's interested me so far.

DeGrimmy Posted June 12, 2017 Posted June 12, 2017 Personally, I'm excited for Wolfenstein 2 (I'll watch the reveal later on!), Anthem and Forza 7 on Windows 10. Sea of Thieves for the Xbox looks really cool, and there was an indie game called The Last Night which was teased but had a really distinct and cool art style, so I'll look out for that.
sted Posted June 12, 2017 Posted June 12, 2017 i watched the ea and ms ones so far. ea yey we have added a 1 to our "sports" titles(read microtransaction interfaces), nfs looks good but so did the last one and it was utter utter utter pap, and i cant remember anything else from it. ms lots of games and xbox-x is powerful. a year ago id of had it on preorder by now but i dont see a reason to all the games they showed (and most i cant remember) i think forza 7 like always looked good but will be dull after a few hours so i might get it on sale near xmas when they usually discount it but im not going to get any dlc this time fh3 cured me of that i bought it all and ive not used most of it. some cartoon squirrel 3d platformer meh im sure somebody will like it but its not for me. cuphead looks more fun to watch a letsplay of than actually play. sea of thieves if you can get 4 people in the same room playing it i bet its fun with randos i bet its frustrating as heck. lots of pretty looking shooters. some anime game. assassins creed oh and some great looking but again looks mp focused thing from ea that i cant remember the name of beyond it begins with a and from the people who brought you mass effect Andromeda.I really wonder about the future of xbox ive barely used mine this year ive used my 3ds way more (and ps4/switch) and i see no reason from this to turn it on again soon diddnt see bethesda but as i dont think ive got a single one of their games im not sure i care lol

It's why I'm glad Forza 7 will be Windows 10 as well, as my PC and the slimmed down Forza 6: Apex for Windows 10 has ruined Forza 6 on the Xbox for me! EDIT: Oh, and I forgot perhaps one of the bigger highlights of EA's conference, Star Wars: Battlefront 2. I was really hoping for some more Star Wars news, as they mentioned they had several projects in the works. But Battlefront 2 looks pretty good. They've brought back the old class based system and they've extended the points system that was sort of a thing in the original Battlefront 2 (of the PS2/Xbox era) so that you can earn points to use vehicles and heroes. It's why I'm glad Forza 7 will be Windows 10 as well, as my PC and the slimmed down Forza 6: Apex for Windows 10 has ruined Forza 6 on the Xbox for me! it might just be my laptop but fh3 was really unstable on my laptop i dont think ive ever got it to play for more than 10 mins before it bomber out but i think thats down to having to use alienwares custom nvidia drivers and them being way out of date as it always complained on startup but even when i got a driver it was happy with it still diddnt seem happy but by that point id given up on the game anyway really. not a good introduction to play it anywhere
DeGrimmy Posted June 12, 2017 Posted June 12, 2017 Forza Horizon 3 was really quite rubbish on the PC when it first released, but it's got better. You still need a beefy PC to run it, though! Forza 6: Apex (which you can get for free on the Windows store) was a lot better, performance wise.

When it does run it really pretty (though i do knock it down from 4ktp1080p that way i can have a better framerate and all the bells and whistles turned on) its just i couldnt rely on it to get to a race nevermind complete one

I never even attempted 4K, mainly because I only have a 1080p screen, but to begin with, I couldn't even hit 60fps consistently with my i5 7600k, 16GB RAM and GTX 1070. Admittedly it knocked my desire to play the game and, although I've tried it again recently and enjoyed it, I didn't go back to it for more than a couple of nights at most.
