rickjames Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 Started playing Overwatch, may be early on but everyone appears to be useless protecting me aka Mercy...
Garacesh Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 Started playing Overwatch, may be early on but everyone appears to be useless protecting me aka Mercy... Don't be fooled into thinking Mercy is some fragile little princess that needs protecting. 1) Mercy's firearm is pretty useful. Despite all the memes, the damage is genuinely higher than you'd expect, and it gives you a nice chunk of ult charge per hit. 2) You can fly away from danger towards other friendly players, try to remember this when you get flanked. 3) If you don't take damage for a few seconds, you regenerate HP pretty quickly. That being said.. 1) As a Mercy, you are basically the highest priority target for the enemy team, and your health pool isn't fantastic. They will aim to kill you at every opportunity. 2) If you're in a pub game, you can shout "Getting flanked by Genji/Roadhog/etc!" all you like, nobody cares because they're chasing kills elsewhere. Overwatch is one of those games where I get frustrated or bored if I'm not playing with friends. We have a thread, come join us! http://www.edugeek.net/forums/gaming/169941-anyone-playing-overwatch-battleborn.html (and ignore the 'Battleborn' bit. Nobody talks about Battleborn. Nobody plays Battleborn. Is ded gaem.) 1
Joanne Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 I've been playing a game recently on da compooter.... but dare not utter it, because it's not a GAME GAME... *ahem* Sims 4 *ahem* Kinda love doing the life goals thing. Currently I'm on with getting people to hate me. Started on someone last night and I just ended up woohooing with them on accident. My Sim has been married twice and currently has about 3 boyfriends on the go and an ex girlfriend. I'm up to 2 declared enemies. Need a few more. Hah! Hurrah for the Potion of Youth! 2
Garacesh Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 *ahem* Sims 4 *ahem* I actually used to enjoy The Sims when I was younger. 13? 14 maybe? But now it just bores me. That's not to suggest I'm 'above it' or anything, just that simulation games aren't really my thing any more. Building houses was cool, but they invariably ended up costing silly money by the time I finished 1
Joanne Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 Hahahah! I bought it because I've been watching videos on YouTube with some cool house builds and it was on sale. I'm not into the cheating bit yet, but when I've exhausted the life goals bit I will be doing money cheats and building epic houses. Might even try and build my house! Why live your own life when you can control someone elses?!?!!?
Theory Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 Sims is a really good game with cheats, especially Sims 4. I've tried playing it normally but all my characters just end up dead, and it's actually a pretty accurate simulation because I suck at life. But I don't want to play a Simulation of my future, so cheats are the way to go if I want to be successful and stay alive of course.
Garacesh Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 (edited) I'm not into the cheating bit yet, Sims is a really good game with cheats Why do I still remember The Sims money cheat? O.o rosebud;:;:;:;:;(ad infinitum) Edit: I also remember Theme Hospital. I don't actually remember the cheats themselves, but I do remember that if you entered them, your intercom lady who usually gave standard hospital tannoys (Patients are reminded not to die in the corridors. etc) would blare out HOSPITAL ADMINISTRATOR IS CHEATING! Edited April 26, 2017 by Garacesh
Joanne Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 I still have theme hospital... never thought about cheating on that for some reason! The sims one I remember was kerching or one begining with M.
failnator Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 last game i beat was XCOM 2 on the hardest mode now to try and beat it with the long war mod ;(
Theory Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 The sims one I remember was kerching or one begining with M. Motherlode 1
korifugi Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 STILL trying to break Resonance of Fate on the PS3 - I've gotten to insane power level by almost finishing all fights in the arena (50 'levels' of 10 battles each), but the set battles in the 'secret-ish' dungeon "Neverland" are just crazy. Trying to finish it before I manage to hit the 250 hrs mark.
sonofsanta Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 (edited) Why do I still remember The Sims money cheat? O.o rosebud;:;:;:;:;(ad infinitum) I still remember the ultimate cheat for , a 1992 Amiga game by Ocean Software released for Comic Relief. At the title screen you had to type dingadingdongmydangalongdingdong as fast as you could; if you did it in time the red nose the kid is wearing turned green, and I think the kid became impossible to wake up (which was essentially an invincibility cheat, as far as that game's concerned). I am or may not have just lost ten minutes to watching that video. That game takes up an unreasonable amount of brain space inside my head. I absolutely adored it. EDIT: the other Amiga cheat stuck in my head is typing "pea soup" into Lotus Turbo Challenge 2 to skip to . *loses more minutes to Amiga videos* Edited April 26, 2017 by sonofsanta 1
Garacesh Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 (edited) At the title screen you had to type dingadingdongmydangalongdingdong as fast as you could; Ha, wut. Nothing's as bad as the cheats for Alien Breed on the Amiga, though. They're, uh.. Pretty bad. Edited April 26, 2017 by Garacesh
bald_pig Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 Heists are becoming a real pain to complete on GTA, not enough friends yet so have to rely on "unknowns" to help with heists/setups, which they rarely do! Still didn't get round to playing Dragon Age.....my list of games recently bought seems to far outweigh what i'm actually playing at the moment. I'm happy to help with heists, I've helped @X-13 in the past.
sted Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 Ha, wut. Nothing's as bad as the cheats for Alien Breed on the Amiga, though. They're, uh.. Pretty bad. I remember one game having a cheat code of cheatercheaterwimp but can think what it was for theres always the obvious sonic codes or the konami code
localzuk Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 I remember one game having a cheat code of cheatercheaterwimp but can think what it was for theres always the obvious sonic codes or the konami code A-Train by Maxis had that code.

Garacesh Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 I remember one game having a cheat code of cheatercheaterwimp but can think what it was for That's positively a compliment compared to Alien Breed Some of them are NSFW language-wise, and some of them are just outright offensive. There's even a reference to the 1958 Munich Air Disaster.
GuyJD Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 Finally gave in and bought Minecraft on the xbox last night. I understand they've had to simplify the crafting for consoles but coming from only ever playing it on PC before it's so confusing.
Theory Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 (edited) Decided to get new peripherals for my PC! I've ordered a Corsair K70 Lux Keyboard, a Corsair Scimitar Pro Mouse, and a Corsair VOID headset! (not a peripheral but I also bought a Corsair MM800 Polaris mouse mat). Adding to my collection I also purchased a Logitech C920 Camera Edited April 27, 2017 by Theory Typo

You'll never need another K&M again, so impressed with build quality on both products, especially the K70! 1
