Thankfully it has full-fat USB ports so I can use my xbox controller (FFVIII, Super Meat Boy, etc) but mostly I've just been playing Hearthstone on it. Didn't think of trying the Xbox controller - I had been looking at one of these, but not sure that it's worth the investment as I can't see myself playing that many games on it: iPega 9023 Wireless Bluetooth Game Controller Joystick: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics! Apparently using a wireless (or bluetooth?) mouse works (though it's more stuff to attach/cart around), and there are other ways of fooling it into thinking there's a mouse. That said, I don't think I'm likely to run out of games that will play ball! This does look interesting, though: GestureWorks Gameplay on Steam
Garacesh Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 Ooh that looks fairly handy. I'd consider it if I didn't already have a 360 controller. Tried playing Town of Salem on it, and it runs fine, but the on-screen keyboard makes keeping notes/writing your will or death note/protesting your innocence etc rather difficult.

Love it so far Got super smash bro's, zelda's and some other stuff to play though yet!! Found lately I'm struggling finding time now playing games at home on my computer so this was a good way to play it on the move!!

Thankfully it has full-fat USB ports so I can use my xbox controller (FFVIII, Super Meat Boy, etc) but mostly I've just been playing Hearthstone on it. yeah bought final fantasy 7/8 on steam as they were a fiver each and been playing 7 again still sucks at the end of "disk 1" been playing crossy road with an xbox elite controller a lot as well im sure that's what ms had in mind when disigning a £120 controller lol completed (as much as im ever likely never going to manage 100% just cause 3) after ff7 I suspect I will do just cause 2 (came free with 3) then ff8

Duranis Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 I still can't stop playing fallout. £10 well spent! Yep got about 200 hours played on it and still haven't gone through the main quest lines. Also £10?!?!? I didn't get any games for Christmas but my Mrs wanted Farming Simulator 15 and Zoo Tycoon for the xbox (I also paid about 5 times more for them than I needed too). I have to admit I thought the idea of a "Farming Simulator" game was ridiculous but it is surprisingly a really good game (so much so that I bought a copy of it on the steam sale so I could mod it). Zoo Tycoon was not so great though. The gameplay is fairly fun but then there is a set limit on how much you can build (in a game who's sole purpose is to build up a big zoo). My Mrs hit that limit after playing for about 4 hours and then the game is basically unplayable. I had a play through to see if there way to make it playable but hit a brick wall after playing for about 2 hours. It gives you a massive space to build in but you can only use about 10% of it. Was potentially a good game ruined by 1 stupid design decision (which doesn't seem to make any sense).

I like it I like the fact that I can add paddles to the back for certain games (so just cause 3 flying a plane is a pita as rudder is far better at steering it controllably than banking but that's x/b remap it to left/right paddles and its a tonne easier to fly or nfs (which is bobbins don't buy it) I remap boost/handbrake to paddles for easier access while holding the r/l trigger). Worth £130 possibly not but its a good controller

Cheers ditto but I saw so many people whos opinions I value say it was good I thought stuff it and bought one havnt regretted it but it is a lot of money for a controller

Played The Vanishing of Ethan Carter over the break. It is so, so, so, so pretty, and so sad, but still hasn't solved the problem of how to merge "walking simulator" with "game elements" elegantly. It was well worth the three hours, though, and a fine choice for my favourite of all my Christmas traditions, "shut the man cave door and get drunk and play an indie game through in one sitting".
Garacesh Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 I enjoyed the original Grim Fandango incredibly, but I don't want to buy the Remaster because I remember basically everything about the game (seriously, quiz me about any of the puzzles, I can probably tell you without Googling the answer ) so I'd just walk through the game and it would lose a lot of its magic

Played Tabletop simulator on new years, was halfway through a game of texas hold em before i ended up passing out on the floor of the bathroom. (can't remember going to the bathroom) Tabletop sim is excellent though

Servers are very bad indeed, have it on PS4 and struggling to get into games but terrorist hunt on defend hard is mint. I have also picked up Homeworld Remastered in the steam sale, very good game.
Sagima Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 I bought Divinity Original Sin in the steam sale. Really enjoying it. A nice RPG with turn based combat that isn't too open world so that I know roughly where I'm meant to be and what I'm meant to be doing but without much handholding so a bit of wandering around just clicking on things is still part of the fun I didn't like the first two (Divine Divinity and Beyond Divinity) or the Dragon Commander one but I'm enjoying this one as much as I enjoyed Divinity 2 which I probably played through 3 or 4 times. It has taken me the best part of a week to really get to grips with it and I would estimate I'm about 1/2 to 2/3s of the way through but I really want to start it again now I know what I'm doing! I also got and played: Warhammer 40k Deathwatch which is like a much much better version of the Space Hulk game I got last year and was disappointed with. It is very similar to the Warhammer Quest game but unlike that game it is really quite fun to play but I couldn't tell you why off the top of my head. Guild of Dungeoneering which I found quite fun for two days then lost all interest in Warhammer Quest Deluxe - Really wanted to like it. But after half a day it got consigned to my rubbish category. Wandering around a dungeon smashing orcs and collecting treasure to buy more stuff to smash orcs with - how could anyone manage to make that boring?!? Of the other games I purchased I haven't gotten around to playing yet Warhammer 40k Space Marine Dark Souls The Fall of the Dungeon Guardians Shadowrun Returns Shadowrun Directors Cut Lords of the Fallen Lords of Xulima Looking back I might have gotten a little bit carried away - it might take me all year to get through these. I only regret buying the warhammer one so far but I really wanted to like it so I spent more than two hours figuring out I never wanted to play it again.
korifugi Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 FINALLY gotten around to earning a platinum in Fallout 3 (just in time for the present from the in-laws of Fallout 4) and finished off stealing on the high seas in AC: Black Flag. Now, it's on to going through Until Dawn (I know I said that last time, but I got distracted by Pirates!) and Farcry 3: Blood Dragon. Over the break, I got bought (or bought myself), The Order: 1886 Fallout 4 Dragonball: Xenoverse Worms Battlegrounds (currently on sale on PSN for £4!)

Bought this on release and I've been loving it, spending far more time on that than anything else. It's not without it's flaws; whilst the game itself plays, looks and sounds impeccable, the lack of a proper campaign is a tad gutting and the online matchmaking - well, there isn't any. It's particularly annoying when for whatever reason one team is half made of level 50 no-lifers (despite spending lots of time on double XP weekends, still only 36 here!) and the other is either entirely newbies or mid-rangers like myself, games can get one-sided very quickly. Been looking at Fallout 4 however installed 3 a couple of weeks ago but never got into it. Battlefront is a large reason for that though
Joanne Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 Forgot to mention we bought Worms: Revolution during the holidays for the TV PC. Unfortunately it wasn't powerful enough to play it, so had to hook up my laptop to the TV, but is a very fun game to play, multiplayer, single player and puzzle mode
