another +1 for Foldr

Great with iPads, Good with ChromeBooks (or any other webpage connection, ie from non domain joined PC's etc), OK Android App, although at last test, wouldn't rotate Landscape (on out Asus TF101, think they run honeycombe).

I had a trial of Foldr, really like it and all its features. Also like the live editing, something that HAP+ cannot do. However, we didnt have the money to purchase it

Depends on how many pupils your school can accommodate for. That's how they work it out, first year is a lot normally, but after the first year they half the price so it's not to bad, and you can set it up to pay it off over 3 years :)

We have been using it after a recommendation on edugeek. So far so good with it. You can get a free trial which is worth it's weight in convincing people.

FoldR has a free 30 day trial available if you are considering it.

There are three license mechanisms available:

Full (aka site license) - you pay per number of students

Per Device - you pay for a specific number of devices

Per User - you pay for a specific number of users

We started on the latter, for staff only, but renewed it as a site license the following year when we started using with students.

Do note that FoldR is VM-only; they provide pre-built Linux VMs on the platform of your choise. License keys are keyed to your internal FQDN.

Does anyone know if FOLDR gives users the option to change their AD password if it has expired and they attempt to logon remotely?

Unfortunately not.

Bugger!

Hi - I spoke to Chris @ Foldr about this recently and this facility (to change domained expired passwords) IS becoming a feature soon. His exact words...."we’re actually implementing that as part of an update. It may not be in the next version but it’s coming."

We use Foldr heavily here and it's a fantastic product, fingers crossed this feature arrives soon. It'll be a god-send to all our non-domained laptops and iPads!

Out of curiosity who did you guys get quotes from? Looking at replacing our currently web-based remote drives, and looking between this and HAP currently.

I used to use KRCS but having got fed up with our account manager advising us wrong (that's the polite way of putting it) I have cancelled the PO and moved to XMA.
