About Another

  1. https://teams.microsoft.com/downloads#allDevicesSection - Linux client now available!
  2. If you buy a radiator with a ceramic core they retain the heat within the ceramic plate in the centre. Storage heaters used to do this with large blocks inside, the ceramic core is more efficient and a lot smaller. They ARE more expensive but as they retain heat they are quite reasonable to run and also can heat quite large areas too. First website I googled - but loads out there. QVC and Ideal World shopping channels have them for sale every once in a while too - https://www.heatershop.co.uk/ceramic-core-electric-radiators
  3. I had an old Dell that did this. I disabled the light/ambient sensor within BIOS in the end. Not ideal but after upgrading to a version of Win10 it became impossibly dark!
  4. Hi - I setup Presto at my old school to avoid this issue. Not only was it simple to setup it rarely went wrong. Wasn't crazy money and good support too. https://www.collobos.com/
  5. Hi there Are you entering cd [space] drag in folder [enter]? So CD for change directory, SPACE to seperate that command from the path, drag in the folder to give the terminal window the path and then ENTER to select/go into that folder? Hope that helps
  6. Hi all - Currently looking at other MDM products and considering inTune. Do any schools use it and would care to comment on it at all please? Thanks all
  7. We use Airwatch and with the combination of DEP and AW you can't remove the profile. Even with a forced reset/wipe you'd then get stuck in the DEP loop where it wouldn't activate until you authenticated (against AD in our case) again. We disable FMi and use Airwatch instead for finding devices.
  8. As IJK has put but in more detail... Right click a Backup Job. Select Edit (at bottom) On the wizard window click on Storage (on left). In the centre of this window is the Retention policy. Restore points to keep on disk "XX". Decrease this number to not keep so many points on your rapidly filling HDD! Click Finish or Next to run the rest of the wizard through. HTH
  9. Thanks Elsie - Same role but different address! We're on the Camberley/Frimley border so often listed as Camberley/Frimley http://www.edugeek.net/forums/educational-jobs/169254-systems-manager-camberley-surrey-38-015-42-992-close-10-may-2016-a.html This role is my current job. Feel free to ask any questions you may have via PM
  10. Free - not that I've ever been happy with but... Microsoft RDS 2012 r2? (assuming you've already got it) and SparkGateway Remote Spark (not free but used to be cheap!)
  11. Sadly it should! That or I've been ripped off for the last few years! Thanks again SF
  12. Classic....Sorry about that! It's my main reason for leaving, too much holiday!! I'll get this changed and thanks for pointing it out
  13. Good morning everyone - Feels a bit strange advertising my own job but.... 14. Use PowerShell to use username login only? Set-OwaVirtualDirectory "owa (Default Web Site)" -LogonFormat Username -DefaultDomain yourdomain.local I use 2010 and you can set this through ECP but I'd have the same for both internal and external personally to keep things simple! Edit to add - you'll need an IISRESET when you're done!
  15. Hi - I spoke to Chris @ Foldr about this recently and this facility (to change domained expired passwords) IS becoming a feature soon. His exact words...."we’re actually implementing that as part of an update. It may not be in the next version but it’s coming." We use Foldr heavily here and it's a fantastic product, fingers crossed this feature arrives soon. It'll be a god-send to all our non-domained laptops and iPads!
