As next weekend is the Eurovision song contest in the Austria city of Vienna, will anyone be watching it this year?

I normally watch it playing drinking games with friends for a laugh but im away when its on so cant watch it with them.

I'm going to my parents and watching it with them, great laugh trying to predicted who they will vote for.

Yeah not sure how that works - unless Australia has moved significantly recently....

Eurovision is pretty big in Australia and they've invited them over to compete for the competition's anniversary. It won't be hosted in Australia if they win though.

If they did win I guess they could pick where it will be held next year I guess.

Having watched every contest since 1967, I'll be tuning in. It's the highlight of the TV year - worth the licence fee alone

I like watching Eurovision. Strange, but I don't usually find 2-3 good songs worth adding to the iPod. Shock, horror, this year the UK entrant is one of them! That hasn't happened since...1981!

It is not the same without Terry Wogan getting progressively more drunk as the night goes on and making comments about people's eyebrows

I watch it every year if possible - a guilty pleasure if you like!

 

I think Graham Norton is quite good at presenting it, although I probably prefer Wogan

That's a good point. It's just not the same for me without Terry... his dry sense of humour and commentary was really what made the evening for me.

Lol, no but as a 4 year old I clearly lacked musical taste (some might say that's still the case)

I don't watch it but my children do - no doubt with the drinking games - it has become a ritual for young people it seems!

I stopped watching it when all the ex-Eastern Bloc countries voted for each other to a ridiculous level

First few countries are now out of the Eurovision.

As are Netherlands, Finland, Denmark, Iceland and several others. Albania are in and their performance was terrible during the first semi-final. I think the final result will be a close finish between Australia and Georgia.
