Hi All,

Just wondering which SSDs you use for teaching staff laptops. We usually use the Samsung evo 840 series (120Gb), I'm currently looking for 40 SSD to go into laptops and was thinking of the 850 evo this time around.

Thanks,

Ash.

Whichever's cheapest, or a Crucial BX100/MX100/MX200 if they're cheaper. Performance differences are so minimal as to be unnoticeable in real life, especially to a non-tech.

We stick with Samsung here due to proven excellent support and reliability. We've had some very faily Corsair and Sandisk ones so have avoided those generally however the newer Sandisk units are apparently much better.

Sandisk or Kingston here. Only ever had one Sandisk die - and that was in a laptop given to someone who could destroy buildings just by being in them.

We've used Kingston, Crucial, Sandisk and Samsung. Currenly we spec 850 EVOs, but we've had good results with them all - other than a small faulty batch of M4s that were replaced (grudgingly) under warranty.

We supply Kingston V300's with our kit. They're fast, immensely reliable (we've sold over 2000 of them and have had just on failure) and come with a 3 year manufacturer warranty which is great!

Let me know if you'd like nme to quote you for a batch? :)

Get what you pay for with SSD's

Paid for SSD, got SSD, check.

We have used Kingston, Cruicial, Sandisk and somewhere are some OCZ drives. We must have bought close to 1000 units over the last 3 years and we have had (I think) two fail, an early OCZ and a Sandisk unit. I'm with the cheap squad on these - lowest price at the time we need them will get the order.

Hi all,

Many thanks for all your replies, I was in a all day meeting so didn't have time to reply today. I was actually also looking at Kingston and sandisk so that may be one avenue for quotes just to compare.

Hi All,

Sorry for the late reply but as I have explained to one person already it was a one off deal from our supplier who stated this fact when I ordered, only wish we had a larger budget so I could have obtained more.
