Garacesh Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 Ah, yeah, I already knew that lot I clear off apps that I'm done with as a habit (if I'm done with the camera, email, calendar, calculator and especially games etc I'll swipe them off) but things like Chrome and Hangouts that are always in use get to stay.

fiza Posted April 5, 2015 Posted April 5, 2015 Has anyone installed OxygenOS? I'm waiting for CM12. Reviews I have read say that oxygen is closer to Android stock at the moment. OTA updates will differentiate it later. 1
sonofsanta Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 Reckon I'm going to stick with CM for now; I've fallen in love with all the tweaking and I think I'd lose a lot of those options with Oxygen right now. Waiting on a few reviews of it (Ars, Anand etc.) but I get the feeling it's a starting point and a lot of features are yet to be added in. There's mention of poor battery life, as well. 1

Hands on with Cyanogen OS 12 for the OnePlus One | Android Central I am tempted by OxygenOS, but think I'm going to stick with CM for a while longer until OxygenOS has been out for a while. 3

A friend of mine upgrades his OPO, battery life is terrible, half the little tweaks that you don't notice are gone (and boy do you miss them when they're gone!) and Ox.OS is basically just the AOSP. I'm waiting out for CM12 too. 1

There is something in your settings where you can allow certain amounts MB/KB through on email. Just check all incoming settings and mail servers etc... That's how it is my end anyway pal.

sonofsanta Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 Just in case anyone else gets the same problem: after the update, the new CM Messaging app wasn't displaying contact names or photos, but listing everyone by number. The contacts were there, but they weren't linking. The fix is pretty easy though: Settings > Accounts > Google > [email protected] > Untick Contacts Sync Settings > Apps > All > Contacts > Clear Data (yes to the warning) Settings > Apps > All > Contacts Storage > Clear Data (yes to the warning) Settings > Accounts > Google > [email protected] > Re-tick Contacts Sync
CHR1S Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 Not going to read all 30 pages but wanted to add this if no one else has- I will never ever buy a phone that does not have some form of rapid parallel charging system again. Why all battery devices don't have this I will never know, its completely revolutionised how I use my phone (Oppo Find 7 with CM12).

I think I'm going to use only CM stock apps rather than download google calendar and gmail official apps. Me no like clutter. Just compared CM11 on my brothers OPO compared to my Nexus 6 and my Nexus I'm sorry to say has more features on it So yeah....!
Xeba37 Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 I love my Xperia Z3 now I have got it working I installed Lollipop last week and it has sorted some of the notification issues I was having right out so I am getting on with it well in general. The screen is just wow, popping with colour, much more alive than my iPhone 5. I do miss the build quality of the iPhone, it just felt superior and the dictionary on auto-correct is better because if you miss a space in betwen words on iOS it corrects it but this does not happen on the Z3 unfortunately. I will just have to get more accurate at typing! At £18 per month cheaper than the iPhone 6 contract, I would say it is worth making that sacrifice.

Get yourself SwitftKey, it's an awesome keyboard with a pretty good dictionary (and the space detection you're missing). I'm not sure if they still do a free version but the full one is only a few quid and well worth it. 1
Garacesh Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 +1 for SwiftKey. Once you've used it for about a week it gets insanely accurate at predicting what you meant when you muck up and learns regular phrases you use. Just disable that swipe-to-type rubbish and the speech-to-text button. 1

And personally I love swipe-to-type though my absolute preference would be a slide out physical keyboard, still. On a 5"+ high-spec phone if possible, please. A man can dream...
