Hi, one of our projectors, an Epson EB-X11 has recently started suffering from image wobble. It doesn't seem to be related to the ceiling mount as there is no one above and even if I hold it still it still happens. IS this perhaps a sign of something in the projector failing? Has anyone experienced this?

Is it the image or the board that wobbles? I've seen a few times where staff report it as image wobble but it's due to the board moving (usually due to being mounted on the same wall as a door that shuts heavily).

Is it VGA or a digital signal?

Our VGA projectors sometimes exhibit wobble when they have poor quality, or overly long cable kits.

Slowly trying to get HDMI to all of our new projectors.

We're having the exact same problem with the same projector.

We put it down to power / earthing issues. At first unplugging the laptop charger helped. Then using a travel adaptor.

But the problem has resurfaced.

We had this intermittently issue with an EB-X7, we replaced it with a Casio XJ-M130 and not had any issues since. We've now got the same issue with another EB-X7.

Does it still wobble without the VGA converter? I have this issue when using our Apple TV's through a converter - everything has a slight wobble to it (particularly around the edges of the screen). Fortunately our projectors have a HDMI input - when testing without the converter, the wobble vanishes.

At another school I experienced a wobble which the Epson engineer informed me was due to a faulty fan bearing - when the fan was running, the faulty bearing was shaking the internals of the projector.

Ah, no, if I disconnect the PC signal the wobble goes away

That strongly suggests it is the cable/connectors. Can you try a direct HDMI with a different cable?
