I didn't set the passwords, management did it, it's out of my control, the only thing I am able to do as admin in 365 is change a users password.

Unfortunately we are part of an academy and the academy management have insisted. They'll have to pick up most of the pieces in September!
-
That would be sensible but the management won't let me do it this way!
-
Thanks, I'll take a look.

Hi, all of our staff email passwords will be changing over the summer and I have been given the task of sending an email to each individual staff member with their new password! I have a spreadsheet with their email address and new password on but is there an easy way of emailing 60 people without copying and pasting each line of info or will I really have to create 60 emails? Thanks for any advice.

Primary school children are way past stickers! Thanks for your reply anyway.

No, otherwise I would be repeatedly doing it throughout the lesson. If the device makes a noise that the kids don't like they might learn to be quiet! - - - Updated - - - Hi, I don't want to buy any additional hardware really. Thanks.

Not sure if this is the correct section for this but I couldn't find anything related. I want to use my Google Nest (mini I think) in a classroom to detect when the noise from the students is too loud. When it gets to that level I want it to make an announcement or play a sound continuously until the noise level drops again. Anyone know if this would be possible? Thanks

We use Google Calendar across the school, there are quite a few calendars that are shared. Some of these are calendars for laptop trolleys to be booked out. Any teacher can book a trolley out by adding an appointment/event to the relevant calendar. The only problem is that sometimes another member of staff books the same trolley for the same time period without checking first. I can't see an option to prevent booking a timeslot that is already booked. Does anyone know how to do this? I am happy to use a different calendar type system instead of Google if it makes this possible. Thanks

Hi, yikes! Is it toll free?

The problem I have is that the email account and phone number associated with our Apple School Manager account we no longer have access to so I can't sign in to it. I tried to create a new School manager account but was denied because we already have one!

Recovering data from raid array on failed server
Renfield-64 replied to Renfield-64's topic in Hardware
It was an old server, probably 15 years old, I have no idea what version of Windows server or RAID card. The server itself is an HP ProLiant ML115 if that's any help. Thanks -
We have an old server which we used as a media store for photos and videos. The server has just died, which I'm not bothered about but would like to get some of the data of the hard drives. I know I can't just isolate a drive and try to read it. Is there any way I can use another device to read the whole raid array so that I can get to the data? Thanks

For the class that is still working OK, I can see that the owner is the correct teacher by selecting the class drive as you say. On the classes that are not working I get a Google 404 error.
-
Hi, thanks, yes I plan to do this later today. Cheers
-
Yes as member as are all of the other teachers apart from the one whose GC still works properly, she is not shown amongst the members.
-
Hi all, no that didn't work, even though she's the owner she still can't post work.
-
I couldn't see who the owner was but have made the class teacher the owner and have asked her to try to assign work.
-
Hi, thanks, I'll get on to this. It does seem strange as one teacher posted work around 8:30 but when she tried again an hour later the problems started. I will post an update once it is sorted in case any one else has the same issue.

We have been having assigning work since last year using Google Classroom. It doesn't affect all classes. When a teacher tries to create a new piece of work using either 'Assignment' or 'Question Assignment' (or 'Re-use post') as soon as they have typed a title it says 'Not saved' and they are unable to assign it. It doesn't happen if they use 'Material' or 'Question'. *Update* For one class at least none of the classwork options work. Other staff cannot be added to classes in the classes with this issue. If I create a new class it doesn't happen. It doesn't seem to be related to the teacher, just their classroom when they assign work to their own classroom (or if I try to assign work to that classroom). Not the browser - I have tried various browsers, clearing cache etc. + different devices. Anyone had anything similar? Thanks

OK thanks.

Hi, I did google it but think I was a bit to specific with my wording . To be fair it is at least 5 years old so we've had our money's worth I suppose.
