Yes it is a E3521 model.
-
Yes these are Fujitsus.

No not Lenovos, I don't think Lenovo existed when these were made!

I've tried disconnecting USB stuff and it's not that. Might have to swap the PSU.
-
Hi, I did have it completely disconnected for about 10 minutes whilst I cleaned out the inside. No luck.

Hi, I have a PC that when powered on gives no output to the monitor but the internal fans are unusually loud, I have had the lid off and cleared away any dust etc from the inside of the PC but it doesn't make any difference. I have also tried re-seating the RAM. There doesn't seem to be any HDD activity going on. I am sure I have had this problem with PCs in the past but can't remember if I solved it or not. Any ideas?

The problem with making an announcement is that the intruder will also hear it which could be counter productive and cause them to hurt more people more quickly!
-
We could use Impero which we already have. Our staff can't lock internal doors though as they don't have the keys!

Depends how astute the kids are. In a junior or infant school they could initially make out it is a game.

I would have thought something which activated the phones in each room,ie; continuous ringing, might do the trick, staff would know what was happening but kids wouldn't be panicked by it.

The desktop I am trying to copy from is logged in as a different user (not admin) which is why I can't copy it.

Hi, I have created an RDP connection and when trying to connect under administrator login I have no problem but if I am logged in as another user I get this message: "your computer can't connect to the remote desktop gateway server. contact your network administrator for assistance". The user seems to be a member of the relevant groups including Remote Desktop Gateway. Any ideas?

Hi, it won't let me transfer it, it denies me access. But I am part way to solving it by typing mstsc into cortana which allows me to set up a new RDP.

Hi, The school I have started working at uses a company called PS Financials to manage finance stuff and log into it using an RDP connection. This has worked fine with Win 7 but when I try to set up a Remote Desktop connection on a Win 10 Edu PC there doesn't seem to be an option. I have to admit I am not that familiar with Win 10 Edu as we use only Win 7 at my normal school. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Using Meraki MDM to clear photos from iPads
Renfield-64 replied to Renfield-64's topic in Mobile Devices & Tablets
That's a shame, it wouldn't be so bad if Apple had a way of doing it but I don't think they do. -
For those of you that use Meraki dashboard to mage iPads, has anyone found a way of clearing out the photos folder of managed iPads from Meraki? Typically when an iPad set is returned there may have been as many as 50 random photos taken by kids for a laugh. It would be good to be able to clear these photos out now and again from within Meraki.

New user logs on then gets logged straight off again
Renfield-64 replied to Renfield-64's topic in Windows Server 2012
Hi, yes it was a permissions thing. I can't remeber how I sorted it now but it is sorted. Thanks guys. -
The trouble is there could be dozens of folder structures like this.
-
Hi, thanks for your suggestions guys. The main thing would be a way to prevent them making the folder structure so long in the first place.

Does anyone else find it annoying when staff create folders within folders to an unnecessary depth, ie; 10 folders deep? Is there a way to prevent users doing this? It certainly is a pain when I have to delete folders that overuse the 256 characters allowed by Windows as it doesn't easily allow deletion. Ideally I would like to set a preset level for users. Any ideas?

Hi, we have to supply an iPad to a child with a disability which the child will be able to use at home as well as at school. I can lock the iPad down with Meraki so the technical stuff is ok. Does anyone have an agreement between parent & school form that I could use and personalise for the parent to sign accepting responsibility for the device? Thanks,

Restricted Youtube + Google Apps + Single Sign On
Renfield-64 replied to karlr's topic in Cloud Services
We just block it completely but allow staff to bypass the filter if they need to. The children in our school aren't old enough to watch Youtube unsupervised anyway. -
Thank you guys, that has alaid my fears.

Hi, I am about to buy 5 new PCs for our school and have been quoted on 120GB SATA Solid State Drive 2.5" instead of normal HDDs. Are there any drawbacks to using SSDs over normal HDDs? The storage size is enough. We are currently running all PCs here as 32Bit Windows Enterprise Pro but sometime within the next year we are likely to upgrade to Win 10. Thanks.
