  1. I did always suspect this, the only other place they log in is from home through Cloud Access (a form of Remote Desktop) but I have asked her to make sure she actually logs out of it and not just closes the session. I will have another chat with her. Thanks for your advice folks.
  2. Hi, yes it is only one person and that is the file I cannot delete.
  3. It won't let me rename , open or delete it as it says the file is being used by another program (which we know). The reason I redirect app data is because I have set a number of tabs to open by default they need this to happen wherever they log on.
  4. I have seen the lock file but cannot delete it, is there a way around this? Thanks,
  5. Yes we do.
  6. I'm going to post this here as am not sure where else it belongs. On our school network if a user (ie; teacher) is logged onto a computer and has Chrome open and they then log onto another computer they cannot open Chrome again until they close it on the other computer. This is quite a well known issue I believe and though it took me a while to figure out we can live with it. The problem I now have is that I have one user who can't open Chrome even though she is sure she is not logged on anywhere else. Any ideas?
  7. Whichever computer I log onto it logs me off. Not just the first time. On that particular user it hasn't stayed logged on at all. This is from the event log of the computer.
  8. Ok I'll have a look at the event log.
  9. No, just logs on then logs off again.
  10. Hi, It's only happened with a new user I created today. I've tried re-creating from a different user but same result. I've created other users within the last week and they have been fine.
  11. When I create a new user in AD (I do this by copying an account in the correct OU) the new user logs on and just before it hits the desktop is logged off again. I've tried deleting and re-creating the profile but the same happens. I have had this problem before but can't for the life of me remember what the issue was and how I solved it. When I googled it some responses point to the registry but it can't be this because I've tried on different PCs with the same result. Anyone know what's going on here? Server 2012 Windows 7 Enterprise Thanks
  12. Ok, a link to that then would be fine. Thanks
  13. It's definately .Net 4.7. I am trying to get hold of an MSI for .net 4.5 but can only find the offline installer .exe. Anyone got a link? Thanks,
  14. This is what RM/swgfl advised me to do.
  15. We had this problem a few weeks back. Try changing your proxy settings to sslfilter.staffproxy.swgfl.org.uk for staff and proxy.swgfl.org.uk for students. It worked for us.
  16. Thanks guys, it was just that. Tried IE with compatibility settings and all good now. Cheers.
  17. Hi, the trouble is it doesn't show any entries.
  18. Hi, does anyone know how to change the VLAN (guest network) passcode in the Meru management screen? I can see where to change the main Wifi passcode but our guest network is a separate ESSID. I must have changed it at some point but can't remember how.
  19. Oh that's a good idea, only we don't use a VLE
  20. Ok thanks folks. I think I'll point out to the head teacher that she'll have to take responsibility.
  21. I'm not sure about the licensing business but it's a point I hadn't considered. We do have consent from parents as I said earlier (it's an opt out when they join the school). We don't want to exclude children whose parents have opted out but could give them backstage jobs as suggested by someone in the link you provided. Slightly off the Youtube/video subject but we had photos taken of the children during a production they did at a local theatre. We have bought the photos from the media company and the staff member involved in the production wants to sell these onto parents of children that took part. Do you think this could also be an issue? ( I realise that we would have to check with the media company about what we are allowed to do with the photos).
  22. I agree with your first sentence. I don't see why and opt-out policy isn't sufficient though. When children join the school the parents are told that photos and videos may be taken and used in school publications and on the website (full names of course will not be disclosed). Parents have the option of opting out of this arrangement.
  23. Hi all, not sure if this is the right area to post this: Our junior school often does mini stage productions at the school and I video them. I have suggested having a Youtube channel for the school where these can be uploaded. The head teacher is in agreement as long as we do it correctly regarding child safety etc... Has anyone else done this and if so what did you have to put in place. I know I can prevent searches within Youtube for our videos and so would give parents access via a web link.
  24. In our school I just block Youtube for the kids and give staff access to it thro' the filter bypass.
