It's not my card. It hasn't been treated very well in the past. I'll double-check for certain what I'm running tonight.

I can just about run DOTA on it (as the Source engine is CPU-intensive, not GPU-intensive) and I don't even get 60fps from that. Eve won't stand a chance once someone opens fire!

Valid points. Though I thought 1 WCS mitigated 1 WS? So if they used 1 WS you could still warp off if you had 1 WCS, and if they used two (say, two ships engaging you) you'd need 2 WCS to warp out?

GAAHH why must you taunt the poor graphics-card-less Garacesh? ;_;

Warp core stabs give you 1 point of immunity, disrupters are the long range tackle modules that have 1 point, scrams are the short range modules that do 2 points.

So basically 1 WCS will protect you from a single long point, 2 will protect you from a single short point. As a trade of it negatively effects your lock time, lock range, and man/womanhood :p

A warp disruptor puts 1 point of scramble on you at 20km, a warp scrambler puts 2 points on you at 7.5km. So one stabiliser would protect you from a disruptor, but not a scrambler.

Point! Always the most exciting word to shout in fleet ops.

Bloody hell, I have so much to learn/relearn :( I never really got into PvP much during my first go at EVE so there's a lot I don't know. I suspect I'm going to die a lot for a while :D

If in doubt about how much any player has left to learn in Eve, just refer to this handy graph...

Cos it means you got the bugger, and once the rest of your corp warp to you they're a goner :) scanning out someone in your interceptor, with the rest of the fleet waiting on your success, warping to a spot and realising they're there and getting that point on them... I don't reckon there's ever been anything in gaming that's had me as tense and excited as that.

It means the one you just got a warp disrupting effect on is about to die and your the one responsible for it.

How do you know if it's your scram/dis that's affecting them? Presumably if you lock them and use your scram/dis it'll still show as being used underneath their locked icon (where it shows their ship and what guns you're trying to hit them with etc)

Does the icon change if it's being blocked?

Pretty much, same as using any other module on a target.

All this talk of Eve, would anyone want to get online Today/Tonight and run a little fleet of something? Personally I have a Venture (for mining) a Wreathe (for Cargo-ing? Though I'm not sure what I would carry) and a fair arsenal of combat ships including my Condor (which was made with the idea of tackling enemies).

Could be interesting to have a little fleet running Ops together. Maybe even some form of VOIP.

Could probably hop on my indy alt and get the Hulk out.

My favorite thing to hear on fleet ops is "brake brake brake!" It usually means something is about to go down.

I've only heard people say it a few times and that was "break" as in, "break communications" - the same as in a military sense if anyone's ever played a milsim.

Yeah that's what it means, but normally that leads to "shut up, perk up, enemy fleet has been sighted" or "our forward scout just welped to a gate camp, lets go get some vengeance"

So in regards of who's coming for a little fleet flyaround tonight... VOIP or no VOIP? Where will we meet? What will we be doing? Since I'm home base'd at Malukker I might need to do some pre-event preparation at the designated meeting location. I may have suggested the event, but I'm not capable of leading it - otherwise we're all doomed.

My main is floating in and out of wormholes trying to scout a location for a POS so I can't really do any gangs etc.. mining ops is about as much as I can do for the next few days.

Already got some plans for this evening, sorry, am meeting up with a colleague in ESO. Hurray for MMOs!

Ahh ESO, I need to get back into it but.. I've got too many different games installed atm :(

Hal, depending how much your shiny ship is going to cost I might be able to help you out a little, I've made 50mil today. I'm over 1b now :D

Also, if some of these little "flips" work out. I should end up making a few hundred mil profit :D

I'm good for isk, certainly to the point that I can afford an entry level incursion ship and that will pay for itself in a few hours. I'm favouring the T3 ships but that's just because I really like them, a BS is probably more likely or I might go with logi as a way to get into fleets much faster.

90% of that made no sense, all I know is you don't need my chump change :p

I'll break it down for you -

Incursions are a type of PVE where it takes a fleet of ships to deal with, payouts are pretty good for them.

T3 is the shorthand for Tech 3, which is a type of more advanced ship (like Tech 1 is normal ships like your condor, Tech 2 is advanced ships/equipment like the Crow)

BS is shorthand for Battleship, the biggest combat ships which aren't capital ships

Logi is shorthand for logistics ships, the healers of eve who repair either shield or armour for their fleetmates.

VOIP. Always VOIP. I can't join in yet, but still always VOIP. In a game like EVE it's mandatory. There's no way you can communicate all the orders and guidance over text, whilst simultaneously trying to not get blasted out of the sky.

So you're our healer? :D

Useless healer. GG restart.

I remember when remote shield recharging (I don't really know what it's called...) first came out, we gathered about 4 of them (I'm thinking they were referred to as 'Dolphins' but I don't fully recall) and got one of our ships tanking CONCORD. Couldn't make a scratch on the space cops, but didn't die to them either.

Well, I'd prefer VOIP - but considering that one of our potential flyers can only mine for now, and a few can't make it. I'm not sure if it's worth going through the hassle of setting up a TS/Mumble for just 2 people in an ASteroid belt :p
