Edit: just updated my skill queue since we don't have that 24 hour max thing anymore, hit the cap of 50 skills with a bunch of other stuff I want to add in. Death, explosions, maybe fireworks? Any idea what region you were in? In a few days my PoS will be ready in w-space and we can all have a party inside the bubble.

Logs in right in the centre of a fleet preparing for war. Gets an invite as they assume you're one of them. Roll with them. Merc a bunch of people. Get invited to the corp. Work your way up the ranks and eventually assume the position of CEO. GG. @Arreks, tl;dr on all this wormhole stuff? I see Brave mentioning it a lot (subscribed to /r/bravenewbies just to keep up with what's going on in EVE in my absence) but I actually have no idea what they are
LiamHaith Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 ADR or something, I can't remember. But I think I logged in -0.3 in a crappy Condor with a Warp Disruptor T2. (Look at me knowing my stuff... haha!). So my plan is, disrupt them and run away crying.

Do they ever collapse? Are there resources there? Once you take it, presumably other doods can come in and forcefully commandeer it?
Domo Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 (edited) navigating wormholes is also much more efficient if you have good scanning skills as you will have to scan down exits and sites when you are in them. (personally i don't like wormholes, they have a great source of gas which can make you millions but it's sometimes a maze trying to get out into hisec and you might run into a WH corp, and they won't take kindly to you being in their space. xD) edit - they do collapse, but they sort of just "move" somewhere else. you'll always be able to get into any wormhole but you might have to travel through another ten wormholes or enter from -1.0 or something like that xD more edits - (I swear i can spell) there are lots of high-end resources in wormholes(metal and gas) as well as sleeper sites which are combat/exploration sites that will send sleeper ships to blow your ship to pieces you can make A LOT of money in wormholes. In wormhole space, no one can claim sovereignty, and no one can see your name in local chat! if you have a cloaking device, you're essentially hidden. The moons, planets etc down in wormhole space are considerably better than the ones higher up too. I've been essentially living in Thera recently but I want to move to my own little wormhole space. It's quite exciting because the entrances and exits to the wormhole space are essentially random.
localzuk Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Wormhole space is static - it doesn't disappear or move or whatever. What changes is the wormholes themselves, which have time limits and mass limits etc... So, over time, a wormhole will collapse and a new one will spawn which you have to scan down and can then use. The best way to use WH space is to always have a scanning alt inside the hole, even if logged off. That way, you always have a way of scanning down the exits for other characters to travel through. Bookmarking the WH's is an important thing to remember also. My old alliance used the term "doing a Loc" for not bookmarking and getting stuck outside or inside... Mining and running combat sites in WH's is a hugely profitable endeavour. When I used to do it, our corp would take about 6 people along and we'd make a couple of billion isk in 3 hours. That said, we set up the full infrastructure to handle it - fully equipped POS with processing and and the like set up (until someone got a Rorqual which could compress our ore down and we shipped it out compressed, meaning we could increase our yields in high-sec processing instead).

EDIT: Well that was disappointing, I made it home without even meeting another player.. I had a 2m (with fittings) Condor that I was willing to sacrifice. At least I can say I've been to Null Sec. In null, there can be stations but they're owned by player corps so you won't be able to dock. In -1.0, there are no stations at all (Thera is an exception) - the only thing there are POS, in terms of being actually 'safe' you either have to hide cloaked or hide inside a POS bubble. It's really a no-mans-land.
