I hate to be wrong so I thought I was right at first, but later on I learned that it is legitimately black and blue.

So this is what caused a fuss on Twitter today! I see light blue banded with a sort of copper-ish colour. Looks quite nasty!

I've always had an issue with that colour that could be green or blue, I see it as green whereas others see it as blue - I wonder if this is the same sort of thing?

It's crazy though that people can see this so differently - everyone else I have asked so far have said Blue and Black...

 

If it's due to evolution the way we see the colour of the dress does that not mean that the people who can see the correct colour Black & Blue are more evolved that the other people who can only see Gold & White.....

White and gold, at least on this poxy old 17" TN monitor. But I can see how horribly unbalanced the colour is, and looking at the images in the linked article, the blue/black combo looks correct - as in, you can see the background, and everything there (people etc.) looks correct, whereas the white/gold image is overblown.

 

Related thing about how weird our eyes/brains are with colour: McCollough effect - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. By all accounts, that can break your colour perception for up to three months, though I've not been brave/daft enough to try it.

Seriously though, I see it as blue/black but both my OH and daughter see white/gold. Happy to confirm in Photoshop I was right (nearly)

I saw black and blue, but others in the office said it was white and gold, so i opened up photoshop and used the colour dropper, dropped it on where they said it was white and its blue and they admitted defeat.

Just tested this with 30 children 13 of them said Gold and white and the others said blue and black. Interesting.
