eyetea Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 (edited) After almost 10 years, "Orange Wednesdays" are ending! Thanks for a few first dates when I was a teenager!!! Now back to paying full price, doh! Edited December 12, 2014 by eyetea 1
plexer Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 Yeah saw that this morning. Been a few times and will go a few more before Feb I reckon although a lot of the time we use groupon type deals for the local cinemas. Ben
rickjames Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 I can go to the cinema on Wednesday's now!
LeMarchand Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 NNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
IT_Ninja Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 Hah aww, and to think I haven't even used it once Now to go back to living under my rock... There's always 02 priority
witch Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 Our local paper does a members-only thing where you get two-for-one on a Monday so at least I will still have that. Sad though They say people aren't using it but everyone I know, both young and old, do!
LeMarchand Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 There's always 02 priority How does that work? Can I just get a PAYG SIM and pretty much just use it for the cinema? Is it only certain cinemas? (Ours is a small independent chain). Our local paper does a members-only thing where you get two-for-one on a Monday so at least I will still have that. Sad though They say people aren't using it but everyone I know, both young and old, do! Our cinema is always busier on Weds nights; they do a "cheap night" on Tuesday - buts it's not as cheap as 2-for-1. Admittedly, we now just use an old phone purely for Orange Wednesdays - so people like us aren't helping their profits!
eyetea Posted December 12, 2014 Author Posted December 12, 2014 How does that work? Can I just get a PAYG SIM and pretty much just use it for the cinema? I think you can get a PAYG SIM for Priority Moments - keep meaning to do this myself as sometimes they have quite good deals on!
sister_annex Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 Never used it but I have a Cineworld Unlimited Card, £16.40 a month and 25% off food pays for itself after a couple of movies... (me and the old man go at least 4 times a month)
Edu-IT Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 With more and more people watching films on their tablets, phones and TVs at home, the number of people using the Orange Wednesday deal has declined. So does this mean it's costing them too much money to run for such a few people? Otherwise, I'd say what's the harm in keeping it going if it doesn't require any work from them?
plexer Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 News article was saying they couldn't agree commercial terms with cinemas so it could be that. Ben
bladedanny Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 Never used it but I have a Cineworld Unlimited Card, £16.40 a month and 25% off food pays for itself after a couple of movies... (me and the old man go at least 4 times a month) We used to have the unlimited card before we bought a house together. Used to go at least twice a week. I wish I still had one.

rickjames Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 Cineworld 4 life. Probably saved about £250 this year with my 42 trips.
GREED Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 Apparently Compare the Market are looking at replacing them... so we'll see the meerkat and his team all over the place soon... or more than now anyway! Probably will work by doing an insurance quote get 2 for 1 cinema tickets.
crc-ict Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 Tesco Clubcard vouchers are the way to go for casual Cineworld visits. £4.50 in vouchers for an adult ticket (£3.50 for kids), plus you can use it to book online in advance for 50p a ticket. You can also get a voucher for a small drink and small popcorn for £2.50, which saves about £5-6 compared to the cinema price. Of course the ultimate bargain is Movies for Juniors, £1.35 a seat with myCineworld signup.

Probably will work by doing an insurance quote get 2 for 1 cinema tickets. That could be a double-edged sword though - every time I've done a comparison site run, I've picked up at least two credit file hits from insurers - too many of those and they can cause you problems.
AMLinington Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 Yet another nail in the coffin for EE. Can't wait until my contract expires and I can go over to GiffGaff.
GREED Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 You mean the billions of nails yet to come when BT get their grubby mits on EE won't make a difference?
AMLinington Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 You mean the billions of nails yet to come when BT get their grubby mits on EE won't make a difference? Only read that this morning actually. That coffin is now sealed in concrete.

Probably will work by doing an insurance quote get 2 for 1 cinema tickets. time to resurrect this as someone may be interest in the following ; You have to take out some kind of insurance with them to get the 2 for 1. The best thing to do is get some cheap uk travel insurance for a day, which can work out to about £2. You then wait 48 hours and your 2for1 is activated!!! simplesss... 1
CAM Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 How long does the 2 for 1 offer last after buying the policy? I have a legit UK trip tomorrow....
fiza Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 How long does the 2 for 1 offer last after buying the policy? I have a legit UK trip tomorrow.... 1 year. You can use it either on a Tuesday or a Wednesday each week but not on both days.
AMLinington Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 1 year. You can use it either on a Tuesday or a Wednesday each week but not on both days. Unless you and your significant other have both used CTM?
