rickjames Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 YOU HAVE PERMISSION TO LOSE YOUR S**T. So excited after seeing that. 1
synaesthesia Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 Well at least it's better than Jurassic World. The premise is more realistic too.
sonofsanta Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 As much as the prequel trilogy let me down, as much as the title is a vague, wishy-washy, dreamt-up-by-committee non-title... when the Millenium Falcon sweeps across the screen, when that theme tune kicks in, I still get goosebumps. Not sure about the Light Broadsword though, looks a bit like trying too hard to come up with something different...
LoyalHeretic Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 Is it too early to scream "OMG!" and running around squealing like a 5 year old?
sonofsanta Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 This is how crazily anticipated Star Wars: Episode VII is: On Friday morning, an Alamo Drafthouse Cinema in Austin is screening the new teaser trailer not just before every movie, but also in a separate stand alone screening where it will play 17 times in a row. Each screening will be followed by two minutes of discussion by a panel of Star Wars experts who will go into increasingly detailed minutia analysis about what’s on the screen during those precious 88 seconds. 7 Things We'd Like to See From The Star Wars Trailer
rickjames Posted November 28, 2014 Author Posted November 28, 2014 Now having these visions of Adam Driver being pure evil, it's exciting.
ICTDirect_Dave Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 Ooooooooooooooooo :D That is all. :D:D
Abaddon Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 Is it too early to scream "OMG!" and running around squealing like a 5 year old? No, absolutely not.
StevieM Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 That was brilliant right up until... December 2015! Nooooooooooooooo!
X-13 Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 That was brilliant right up until... December 2015! Nooooooooooooooo! Hey man, getting Jar-Jar physics right take time.
mthomas08 Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 That trailer doesn't have the full voice over. I accidently posted in GENERAL and deleted... The dark side and the light is the end of the speech on the other one. Still I like what I see and certainly looks like they are keeping their word and doesn't feel the same as the prequels. And they also have real men in Storm trooper gear instead of more CGI CGI CGI.
6Foot2 Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 Another trailer: http://i.snag.gy/c6Kb3.jpg 3

6Foot2 Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 Lego Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens Teaser Trailer Note: One expletive in a pop up box when I ran the video.
6Foot2 Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 I read about a continuity error this evening: http://i.snag.gy/lXkTd.jpg http://i.snag.gy/8TElI.jpg
sparkeh Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 YOU HAVE PERMISSION TO LOSE YOUR S**T. S**t officially LOST!
tmcd35 Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 I wouldn't get too worked up. It's JJ Abrams. That's gonna mean three things: Lens flare Either Darth Vader or The Emperor will return (my moneys on Darth Vader, sure he died at the end of Ep.6, but this is Sci-Fi) The plot will never resolve itself Lens flare
X-13 Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 Either Darth Vader or The Emperor will return (my moneys on Darth Vader, sure he died at the end of Ep.6, but this is Sci-Fi) I've already seen a few people claim Claymore lightsabre guy is Luke Skywalker...
tmcd35 Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 I've already seen a few people claim Claymore lightsabre guy is Luke Skywalker... Watching the trailer led me to go reading some of the rumours. If the (any) rumours are true it wouldn't spoil this for me personally - don't really care if I know most of the major plot points before watching these films anymore. Anyway, some of what I've read about Luke seems genuinely interesting and I hope the films do go in the rumoured direction.

When it came to Luke it always felt like he was similar to Anakin before he turned and without that power hunger. After all Luke did wear his dark cloak in return of the Jedi and dressed as black. One thing I never really understood when Old Ben wore more brown/light. Still, I am excited and I was excited when Lucas wasn't involved. He did what he wanted with the originals and the prequels but only the first lot really worked. JJ is a Star Wars fan and what he did with Star Trek was impressive, was only the second one I didn't like because it was non stop action. He did admit he made mistakes on the lens flare with the first one (even though I liked some of it) and he made some on the second one. That was more about the secret.... bad guy... wont say no more. He's still a young movie director but the teaser was pretty good for a movie a year away from release. I get the feeling the CGI isn't quite finished even on the teaser sections. The falcon looked like it needed a tweak but I get the feeling they purposely added cam angles/dark flashing on the teaser to not show too much. Either way... I want to see it now.

I really can't wait to see where they go with it. I'm a massive fan of the Expanded universe books though, so I'd love to see them go down that route. Would be brilliant to see Thrawn get a big screen interpretation, and also to see if they use all three of the Solo kids. Jacen's storyline in the Legacy of the Force series is full of promise. I'm re-reading the New Jedi Order series of books at the moment and I'd love them to take a stab at that. Can't see it happening though, it's too big to make into a trilogy being a 19-book story arc. What plot line(s) would everybody like to see?
tmcd35 Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 I think 99.999% of the expanded universe can be complete discounted. They've already said it's not cannon, freeing them to go in any direction they see fit. A bit of a shame because I always thought the original Thrawn trilogy would have been perfect for Episodes VII-IX
