Afternoon,

Could anyone help me with deploying out Circuit Wizard 3 via sccm?

I have spoken to the company and they sent me installation instructions which are 5 years out of date. Ask me to image a machine and deploy it out or use Community Connect 2/3 to package the application, which I found hilarious! Anyone know of any silent commands that can help me get this application out to 60 machines?

Cheers

Terry

Yes thank you it has given me some parameters ("cw300edu-setup.exe" /s /v"/qb") but I need to insert a serial number as it prompts on an attended install it requires these actions. Any chance you know what parameters are need?

Not sure about that. My guess world be that you create a file [Text file possibly?] with the responses included there. I have seen it done but when deploying with Symantec Ghost [i think?] but I have never set it up myself.

It’s a joke im not going round 60 client machines and installing it locally! I spoke to the company and there reply was do it as I did previously in the past. You should have seen the installation instructions they attached to me, it was so embarrassing had old Community Connect 2 instructions on it nearly feel of my seat! Pardon the pun but i do love the name of the company 'New Wave Technology'

A 3 second look on their website and I can see how you install it on a school network with the key! ... I thought genie software was entirely separated from the circuit wizard software ?

What did Genie say when you asked them this question?

Having problems with deploying this using SCCM. Anyone have any luck?

I've tried the silent parameters. And extracting the .msi from the temporary folder but it's not playing nicely.

*MASSIVE BUMP APOLOGIES*

One of our members of staff has just purchased this software and asked us to deploy to student machines. As stated earlier in this thread - the silent switches do not work, there is no way to enter the serial and unlock codes as part of a silent install, and the installation instructions provided are still the same and ask end users to create their own MSI. Nice!...

I have tried extracting the MSI from the windows temp folder during a manual exe install, but when the extracted MSI is run, I just get the error “1: This installation can not be run by directly launching the MIS package; you must run the setup.exe.” I really don't fancy having to run around and install this manually.

Can you install it on one machine, add the serial and unlock codes, then copy the directory to a share and use robocopy from there to deploy it? There may be a few registry entries needed too, which you can also script to install.

Unfortunately copying the installed files from C:\Program Files (x86) to another client didn't work. When the program is launched, a pop-up appears saying that it hasn't been installed correctly. Oh well!

I've emailed the company who make/sell this, but judging from the previous posts on this thread, I'm not expecting a helpful answer (if any).

Try using RegShot or similar to track the registry changes, you can then export them. I've played this game with some software before, and I was determined to win (and I did!)

I just used regshot to record the registry changes after Circuit Wizard installation. Just the 30,629 registry keys added.... Edited by Network_Boy

Well stone the crows - the company we purchased from replied and kindly sent over a custom MSI they had made for us, with the serial and unlock codes built in. Working like a charm through Intune. If anyone would like the contact details of the chap who sent it over, PM me.

For anyone coming to this thread almost 10 years later (like I did) here's my solution:

Install the standalone version on a computer, then open and activate it. Once you've activated you can copy the folder "C:\ProgramData\New Wave Concepts" along with "C:\Program Files (x86)\Circuit Wizard 3" to transfer a fully licensed copy to any other machine. Don't forget the shortcut, too, although you'll need to modify it and change the icon to use the one embedded in CktWiz.exe as it defaults to one buried somewhere in the Windows Installer folders, which isn't there on other machines.

I have used Advanced Installer to repackage (MSI) it with the serial + unlock code and deployed via Intune.

Did you have to purchase this? I have tried using the trial Version and although I have it built I get an error during install about unable to write reg file.

@bicky can you detail what you did in advanced installer to make it work? also did you manage to package it with the trial version or did you have to buy the full version?

Hi headoned,

Sorry for the late reply, I have used full version.

I have installed the Circuit Wizard on VM, activated/entered the license/code.

Then used Advanced Installed to capture the image to MSI.
