Indeed it's great news, also the difference in pricing we had not long ago. Unfortunately it was a bit too late and we ended up plumping for something else (Stone) but we'd have been happy either way. Stone have been very good to us in experience, but not a patch on Very for customer relations (and no sexy, sexy glides!)

Just read Calapso's and Iain Faulkner's posts.

Similar story here. Was very happy with Ergo hardware and best of all the support. Before I could phone and get straight to an engineer to diagnose problems. Quite often after diagnose, advance ship of parts could be arranged for me to fix as an option or engineer on-site. This was very good and flexible and worked well for us. This is until the change and now it is awful. Really p***ed with the 0844 support line as-well as I got told off by our Business manager for racking up a bill (money is tight and we are counting our pennies). Customer Service is a joy if you enjoy being messed about and like banging your head against the wall. Have had to get the caretaker to repair the dents on the wall :peep:

When talking to Customer Service, they do not have the ability to look up customer details via site postcode nor serial numbers. Get this.... they then asked me to email all the details and someone would get back within 48 hours.

Not impressed with the engineers sent to fix faults. Product knowledge questionable. Got East Europeans who appear to be subcontracted and did not seem to know which company they were actually carrying out the work for.

Shame really.looks like Ergo is just a sales & marketing office now. End of a relationship as we will be looking elsewhere for our hardware now.

Fellow techies that I keep in touch with at other nearby schools are also worried as they have investment in Ergo kit.

Great news about TAP @VeryPC_Colin.

100% Dan! A mix of seriously hard working, dedicated staff and incredible customers got us there and I for one am delighted to be a part of this brilliant scheme. We've never let our customers down on over-delivering on our after care and meeting the criteria for the Microsoft education scheme will only help us serve our customers even better.

We've been consistently delighted with Stone equipment and they have constantly supplied winning bids via our CPC invitations.

@VeryPC_Colin_M you mention people getting quotes from resellers via CPC. Are they actually going out attempting to win bids with your products, because I cannot recall having a bid proposal that offered your equipment? As happy as we are with what we have, it would still make a nice change the next time we go out to tender to see something other than Stone, Viglen and 100 anonymous box-shifters offering various HP systems that appear to have only a passing resemblance to our spec.

You see? @VeryPC_Colin_M is so dedicated to his customers that he's still posting here at 10pm.

(And I'm so prepared to back him up that I'm posting from my phone, in a pub, even later than that! :drunken_smilie:)

Hi @Roberto we at VeryPC are extremely interested in the CPC framework and the opportunities it offers. The devices lot should be up for renewal soon which will give us a chance to bid. I'm sorry that none of the approved CPC suppliers have put forward our products for any of your bids. Whilst the contract exists please don't hesitate to let me know when you're inviting tenders and I'll work with an approved partner to delight you with some brilliant solutions. To you @StevieM... One word.. Cheers!

Allot of comments on this already but personally ill never be using Ergo again. Empty promises and horrible service.

Which is strange because we used them a year ago and they were fantastic. Seems something happened and they took a complete dive.

We are currently leasing 25 laptops from Ergo (since September) and I have to say that I am not impressed, either with the hardware, (3 warranty call-outs in the first few weeks of having said laptops, all with the same issue) or their customer service, which I find to be absolutely appalling. When we called the engineer out last time (call out No.4) they tried to convince us we had a return to base warranty on the laptops and not an onsite warranty. We have now been waiting over two weeks for a quote to repair one of the laptops, although a job for this laptop was first raised before Christmas.

I would not recommend using this company to anyone.

The owner sold a large chunk of his holding. Most of stuff is based elsewhere now. Brought by same people that do Zoostorm.

Another plus for Stone here, we like the warranty and to be fair on the very few cases we have raised, an engineer appeared on site next day as promised and solved the issue. We have servers from them also and again no problem, with after sales or tech support.

Very pleased with Stone, partly because they seem to understand how schools work. Just had server delivered today for one of my schools and never had any major problems with their service.
