A quick plug here for my local camera club's exhibition on the outskirts of Bedford (MK side). If you're in the area call in, it's free and there are some excellent images on show, around 60 in all. There's a cafe there too.

As its holiday pics time of year here some of my efforts taken on my phone. Jersey and a stopover in Liverpool this year, who knows where next?

For those that have never been to Jersey I would recommend it as a couple, individual or family, plenty to see and do. Great weather this time of year.PSX_20190807_133328.jpegjersey2.jpegjersey3.jpegjersey4.jpegjersey5.jpegjersey8.jpegLiverpool2.jpegjellybeans-beatles.jpegAlbert%20Dock.jpegLiverpool%20Museum.jpegLiverpool3.jpeg

On my brief holiday to Gorleston On Sea, landscape photography not normally my thing!

I love number 3, the contrast between man-made and natural walls on opposing sides is really good.

Some photographs from the mighty Wealdstone FC in action. Sports photography is a fairly exclusive skill set. Post processing is usually minimal but hand to eye coordination a must. Fairly pleased with my results from moderate 2nd hand 'home user' equipment. Nikon D5100 and Nikon 70-300mm F4.5-5.6 lens. Might treat myself to a Nikon 70-200 F4 which is very sharp throughout its range.

Great photos - I've had the 70-200 f2.8 for several years and it's a great lens for sports photography in all conditions.

Yes that's a great lens by all accounts. Does appear that Tamron and Sigma are seriously breathing down the necks of Nikon now with a 'G2' and 'Sport' 70-200 F2.8 lens of which are around half the price but according to reviews optically equal. The only risk with these two lenses is not have full functionality with Nikon bodies. Often 90% of functions will work perfectly but extensive in depth testing may reveal that a certain shooting mode may cause a lens malfunction with specific bodies.

Tamron have had incredible glass for years, I use vintage Tamron glass for the bulk of my photography!
