So I purchased a piece of kit from eBuyer (nothing strange there, I do so every so often when they have their sales on certain items), however it was "delivered" by yodel. I have spoken to my neighbours either side (who have accepted deliveries for me in the past), and neither received the item. I have checked all bins etc just in case, and still no luck. I have contacted eBuyer but I am not sure what will happen from here. Will they resend the item with a different courier? Will I get a refund?

If you didn't receive the goods, you should get a refund. The chances of getting a non-Yodel replacement are slim, though.

I generally complain every time I get a missed/late/badly delivered parcel as if enough of us let the suppliers know we are having problems, then it's harder for them to ignore. Felt a bit guilty when Hermes made one driver come around to apologise!

I am one of the lucky ones here, I have had Yodel deliver my PC bits from them and was surprised that they had taken over the deliveries for them, it arrived fine for me with all the stuff to the door next day with no fuss here, Same with Hermes, I think my franchisee's for these companies are quite decent in my area. Though I feel for you with all the horror stories you hear about those companies.

I think that if you get the salaried people (with the uniform + van) most firms aren't too bad. Unfortunately a lot of them use zero hours sub-contractors who don't have the same incentives to make an effort.

I placed an order (SSD Hard Drive) with ebuyer last Monday 27th October, with free next day delivery. Order was to be delivered to my home address and as it was half term I was sat at home waiting for it. At 15:30 I checked the delivery tracking only to be informed that delivery had been attempted and a card had been left. I phoned ebuyer and informed them that I have been there all day and had CCTV monitoring the entrances, no delivery had been attempted. Wednesday arrived and the package was out for delivery again, so I wait. 14:20 arrives and I check the tracking information only for it to say delivery had been attempted and a card had been left. I phoned ebuyer again and went through the same information again that no delivery had been attempted. The lady at ebuyer told me that the yodel account manager was not available to check, so she would get back to me by the end of the day or at the latest the next morning (Thursday). At midday on Thursday I had heard nothing so I contacted ebuyer again. I politely informed them that if the package was not delivered by the end of the day, I would be cancelling the order and expect a full refund. Within half an hour I received an email from ebuyer informing me that delivery would be made between 14:30 and 16:00, low and behold Yodel turned up at 15:00 and told me that it was a different driver for the last two days and he must have attempted delivery to an incorrect address, which is beyond me as our postcode only covers two property's. My recommendation to ebuyer was to change their couriers as I do not like to be lied to, especially twice.

Had a similar incident with whoever Misco use over summer. The non-existent driver even "left a card". At least it only took 1 call top get it sorted!

Nothing, it was the "free" delivery option, I can't see any proof of delivery.

As eBuyer can't prove delivery, then they should re-send or refund. If they think they can prove delivery, they will either have proof of it going to the wrong address or a forged signature.

I had a Yodel driver forge a signature and make out the parcel had been signed for by a teenage lad at my property.

I informed them that if there was a teenage lad at my property, I wanted a full description to file a break-in report with the police and that if he had indeed signed for it, it seemed very odd that he then left the parcel in the middle of my drive in the rain.

I even have copies of the forged documents (managed to get these from staff at Yodel collection centre, as I had actually already arranged to collect the parcel by this point after 3 failed attempts at delivery!) and photographic evidence, all sent to company HQ.

Didn't even get an acknowledgment, let alone apology.

Ive had City Link and Yodel issues.

Yodel chucking package with wedding dress in over fence...

City Link (while I was parking across road).. pulling up outside house.. seeing it was a busy road with double yellows... and driving off.

Call to City Link and he was made to come back. (Not the first time he had done it - eg failed delivery but never left a card)

I feel relieved that I live in a quiet suburb after hearing all these stories, I've never really had a problem with any delivery company in particular - though I have had a few idiots leave cardboard packages out on the doorstep in the rain!

I had something EXACTLY like this a while back (ordered a NAS for home from them..). I had recently moved house and I ordered it to my parents house as I knew they would be home all day! I kept an eye on the tracking, and eventually it said delivered so I rung up M&D. Neither had seen anyone come up the drive (next house is 2 fields away so no mistaking / leaving for neighbours). I spent most of that afternoon / evening irate on the phone to both ebuyer and yodel.

Next day Dad rings me about 3 in the afternoon to tell me a yodel van had pulled up, driver came in and grunted at Dad (who knew about it being marked as delivered etc) so Dad asked if he needed a signature. Bloke grunted back and just walked out after handing it to my Dad. I left an extremely bad review on a generic review website (can't remember which) and also tweeted yodel saying how disappointed I was by the appalling service. Apparently they had an "internal investigation" and it was put down to some error, but I've been told / seen that it was probably marked as delivered so the driver could get paid for another delivery..

When was it "delivered"? If it was yesterday I would try not to panic as my experience it came the next day. However I would recommend you leave Yodel a bad review and also a bad tweet. Ring eBuyer to let them know your item is marked for delivery but nothing has been delivered so they can investigate it too, as they will have more leverage over Yodel. I didn't really get anywhere when trying to contact Yodel, but you could try ringing the depot and complaining too.

Edit: When I asked for proof of signature which apparently was in our name (Could have been my Mum's arguably as we have same first initial which they usually take) they said they couldn't get it to me as it was a paper/hard copy instead of the electronic one. As someone else has said about getting a description etc of the person I was lucky that I didn't have to go down that route, but it would have been my next port of call.

Turns out the driver left it with a neighbour. Spoke to said neighbour, and he said his mrs accepted the package and didn't know where she put it. Received it in the end :) S not a crap delivery by yodel, just my neighbour being an idiot

Didn't you get a card to say Parcel / Package Delivered to house number X or something along those lines ?

Someone has probably already asked ^^^^^ but not got chance to read through all the posts at the min, normally they card the property to advise what is happening so either collect from your nearest depot or left package with neighbour X or parcel left near your bins or something ??

Least you sorted it out in the end :D Just a case of waiting to find out where they put said package

I think it totally depends on the driver.

Once had one package come, i was out at work but the bloke rang my mobile, told him i was at work, he asked where my work was and it was on his way home so he brought it to me at work!

I'm starting to use suppliers who use a decent courrier now. Not used eBuyer for a while till the other week to order some toners, ordered them to home thinking they would be left with a neighbour, nope, card left apparently they were told not to leave them with anyone else and other than redeliver which would fail it was a 50 mile journey to the depot to get them.

At least with the likes of City Link they are more reliable, closer depot, APC, cannot fault them, ParcelForce again no fault, DPD, excellent service wish all courriers were the same. At my place I not have CCTV monitoring the drive way and rear gate after Yodel brought a welcome gift from Halifax when I bought my house, which I was not expecting. Card through the door, they scaled my back gate (6ft) chucked it in the out house and then left my gate unsecure. Wish I had caught it on CCTV.

Wish eBuyer would allow you to pick your courrier, at least you know what the ones are like locally and I am prepared to pay (rather than using free) to have a decent courrier service.

Not related to this thread and just asking out of curiousty but what suppliers use half decent / reasonable couriers and offer finance ?

Scan / Aria / anyone else ?

seems the ebuyer next day - yodel next week is a common problem. I ordered on Sunday and received it , eventually on Thursday. yesterday Yodel were meant to collect a parcel from reception ( open 8am to 9.30 ) I got a text at 19h15 saying they had attempted collection and I would have to reschedule - i immediately contacted our receptionist who said no one had been to collect anything and she was still on reception..
