Trapper Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 (edited) I don't care how old it is (almost 15!) I still find PSP 7 to be one of the better low budget image manipulation packages out there. Animation Shop 3 is still the only bit of kit I know that allows you to resize a GIF, and keep the animation. Everything else strips it down to a single frame. 3s-gtech Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 I still use the XP version of Paint in Windows 7, as it does some stuff very quickly and easily. That's 13 now (though hadn't changed much before that).

CamelMan Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 I've moved over to Paint.net for low end graphics stuff, its free and covers everything I need on a a daily basis. Adding to FMS -> SIMS Exams module, I've worked with SIMS for around 10 years and I dont think either have ever changed!
unixman_again Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 mc although technically the oldest piece of software I use is vi. I don't know when it was ported to M$, but I was using it on NT4. I used it on Unix prior to that and I still use it on W7. It's the fastest editor (for me anyway).

spacebar Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 We have software which is from 85 (16 bit). Its been patched up a bit since then. Its older than me. The makers of the software have gone, but teachers still want to use it.

Thank you! I got laughed at for using this exact piece of software on Friday by the head of ICT and the Tech. I pointed out it does everything I ever want it to do and didn't take any time at all to learn how.

BKGarry Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 On my Mac at home I have Indiana Jones's Desktop Adventures - Boots into DOSbox then Win 3.11 Yoda Stories - Using Wine Oh and Windows 95 with the M$ Entertainment packs running in DOSbox so I can play Chips Challenge and Ski :-)
3s-gtech Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Games wise - I still have installed and love NFS III (16 years old). Someone made a patched version for Vista/7 so it still runs nicely to this day. Should class HL/CS in there too - that's now 15.
localzuk Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 2D Design. I remember using it when I was in school myself! That's about it, ancient software-wise, though as we did a culling last year when we switched to Windows 7 64bit.
BKGarry Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 2D design version 2 is really good for what it does, although we never used it at school, when we started secondary school, I went from 3.11 machines in primary school to an RM Nimbus network :-) Although by year 9 the upgraded to a CC2.4 win98 network.

BKGarry Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Afraid so @localzuk and Listos Electronico, it is because no matter what Pearson offer up, it does not match the functionality for the MFL department, even though this doesn't like Google Chrome and refuses to work over any VPN client.
