Sylv3r Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 Has anybody else had any parents mention that various elements of the Learning Gateway are not showing for users with Safari.I have managed to replicate the issue on my mac at home, the data just doesn't seem to load. It's fine using Chrome or IE on a windows 7 machine. We are a self-hosted install.I'll log a support call on Monday, I was just wondering if it's just us. Thanks Andrew
robjduk Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 Funny enough I had the same issue with IE11. Adding it to the compatibility list cured this so don't know if Safari has an equivalent.
cullingsh Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 Did you get anywhere with this? We have a string of parents who cant get the homework to appear, and I have discovered at least a couple of them are using safari on mac.
Marshall_IT Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 I've spoken to capita today about a slightly different issue with student details and I was told that there was an issue with the latest update that they are trying to fix yesterday and today. I'm getting a call back at 2 which will hopefully fix my issue.
cullingsh Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 I have just spoken to two parents having problems, and both are using Safari on Mac. Both have used Chrome and it works a charm. I noticed in the Autumn release notes for SLG that Safari 6 and 7 are supported, 8 isn't mentioned. Same goes for IE11 too - looks like SLG is way out of date with what it works with.
PhilNeal Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 We haven't been able to find a problem in test with IE11 (33,000 pages delivered from our hosted centre today) although we have had a few cases reported. I've asked about Safari 8.
clockend25 Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 I was told today that IE11 wasn't supported and that compatibility mode was recommended. Safari 8 isn't supported either.
PhilNeal Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 It's true that is what MS say but that doesn't mean it doesn't work.
Marshall_IT Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 Phil, we've been getting issues with logging in, where the radio buttons don't display, but clicking on the text works to select. The text boxes are very faint. Also, lots of reports of time outs after 5 / 10 minutes but i can't substantiate that as it always works for me. However the template that was designed for us and was treated in safari now doesn't load correctly on safari 8. 😞 Really just waiting for the teacher app now!
PhilNeal Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 We're investigating further. Apparently Safari 8 has widespread issues affecting lots of sites that use Windows Authentication. It may well be that Apple provide a fix for this.
nutso Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 We use hosted SLG and unfortunately we have had parents reporting the same issue. Additionally we have had complaints that Firefox is saying that the certificate isn't secure. I just installed the latest Firefox on my PC and I seem to be getting the same thing. Is this a known issue with hosted SLG?
