I love how weird they're making the worldbuilding without any consideration towards such petty concerns as "logic" or "explanation". They just do a thing cos it'll be cool. Works for me ;D Very mild spoiler for those concerned about the dogs, after JW1's puppy: no animals get hurt at all, and the dogs are very very good dogs

I've seen: Ayla Young man is still grieving for his four year old sister who died decades ago. He finds a pod in the woods that contains a naked woman that he's convinced is his sister. Things get very icky. I will be having strong words with the person who recommended this. Really bad. Remembering Leonard ...or, to give it its full title, Remembering Leonard: His Life, Legacy and Battle with COPD. Documentary made by (and primarily interviewing) Leonard Nimoy's family/Anti-Smoking PSA. Not the most polished of documentaries, but you do get a feel for the love that his children and grandchildren have for him. I would've preferred more about his life and less of the anti-smoking stuff but I get the impression that his family really wanted for the film to try to discourage anyone watching from smoking. Only for fairly big fans of Trek/Nimoy, but its heart is in the right place.
korifugi Posted June 3, 2019 Posted June 3, 2019 Finally catching up on some of the MCU films - so I recently watched Thor: Ragnarock. I know it's bad - but hear me out. If you watch it not as part of the main MCU, but more as a 'background' movie it actually becomes a cheese-fest of overplayed actions "that's what heroes do", terrible jokes and over the top "jumping at things in slow motion" scenes. While I didn't laugh with it - I certainly did enjoy it.

If I'd have bought the tickets, I'd have been disappointed. Hemsworth and Thompson didn't have the same chemistry that made them so good in Thor Ragnarok.

So did I - but a lot of this you didn't see, trust me The background music adds a bit of atmosphere (see what I did there?) and is fine in most places - it's only when the volume of the spoken word is a bit low and the sound not crystal clear that it became an issue. It wasnt impossible , just a bit harder to hear. 1

It turns out that he is a spy who was trying to protect her, and when he is shot in front of her, she and her bestie set off to complete his mission of delivering a MacGuffin. I thought it was "OK", but the ladies of Château LeMarchand would happily watch a sequel. I did find that the amount of bystanders caught in the crossfire was a bit much for a comedy.

So many pop culture memes come from this one film and it's been almost 20 years since I watched it last!! And I never twigged onto the wording on Marty Di Bergi's hat until now Non more black! phreak Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 Watched Shazam last night. Not a bad film at all IMO and probably one of the better DC superhero movies that I have seen. Took me a minute to recognise the actor that was playing Shazam and then it clicked and I was going "Omg, that's Chuck Bartowski"
