After my other post regarding a small home nas I ordered a 2tb buffalo linkstation from Ebuyer! Received the tracking info for Yodel, out for delivery... about 4:30pm it's updated saying it was delivered at ~10:15am. I had phoned my parents (who had been home all day) at midday to ask if there had been a delivery which there hadn't. Phoned up Yodel who inform my that the parcel was signed for with my surname..! I was at work, both parents at home (we live on a Scout Campsite - a few volunteers about too) who said there had been no delivery attempt!

Currently waiting on their investigations department..! Where do I stand with this? £180 of delivery "signed for" and not turned up!

Hmmm start by tracking your order, there should be a way you can see the signature recorded and that might give you some clue on who has it. If it's a strange signature that you haven't seen before I've heard cases of the delivery drivers signing it themselves and stealing the item in question, or signing it to leave it in a Yodel Safe Place.

Yodel are bad though, keep in mind you can call eBuyer and specify another delivery firm although there maybe extra charges.

I've phoned Yodel who said they're going to interview the driver.. and I've also tweeted them saying it was signed for but not by anyone at home! Now just ringing ebuyer..

Ask for an image of the signature and the exact time of delivery. Make sure that no-one on site has signed for it using your name, and forgotten to give you it.

When the signature turns out to be illegible, and you can prove you were not there at the time, ask them exactly where it was signed for, ask for a building description etc, who the person that signed for it looked like. Just keep pestering them with specific questions and it will eventually turn up in a van somewhere.

Also contact Ebuyer to tell them of this. Don't complain to them, but just say you are making them aware of the lax delivery company and you would like a choice in future.

I've phoned eBuyer and they've just done the same as me and phoned Yodel, so currently waiting to hear back from either of them. My parents were at home all day so would have been able to take the delivery so I can't prove no one was there!

They currently can't provide me with the signature as it was a "manual delivery" signed for on paper..!

Have also realised the time it takes to get to / from the depot from our house is longer than when it was signed out of the depot to the time of "delivery"!

How about this. Mission critical order awaited on. Apparently it was delivered here at 9:10 yesterday.

SIgned for by a false name.

Delivered magically by a man that didn't even get out of his van - in fact barely even stopped. (CCTV recorded)

Fuming. Absolutely fuming!

We had a delivery allegedly delivered here by Yodel. They didn't, CCTV shows nothing for the day or time they said they delivered. One of the lawyers here got on the case and phoned up as it was needed for the Managing Director/Chairman/Senior Partner of the company, and lets just say, they tore them a new one.

My office is chock full of them. haha. What you should do is get them to provide all of the documentation possible regarding the order, from picking and packing, to postage etc, that way you can have the chain of events to hand.

We don't have any lawyers here, and it was for home unfortunately :(

I personally don't think it has to go to the lawyers just because an order hasn't arrived, at the end of it all it's eBuyers problem not yours and eBuyer will have to find a way to sort the problem out. They are normally very good if they refuse to send out a new item or compensate you in some other way such as a refund then take on legal advice.

I wouldn't do anything this early just yet as it's not a legal matter, talk to the companies vent your frustration and let them know what's going on through every step to see if they can find you a resolution.

They did that with me, just took the name off the label and signed as that on a day I wasn't even in work.

I know! Hadn't even considered it to be honest, just would be useful to have someone with proper weight behind them! :p

Yeah eBuyer will have to sort it out for you, even if that means sending out another. Soon they'll learn.

You'd think so wouldn't you but no - case in point: Amazon. Despite terrible feedback from customers, Amazon actually INVESTED in Yodel.

Yeah this happens a lot. Our office is literally down the road from the YODEL distribution centre - you can practically see it from the top floor so inevitably our deliveries never make it here. They like to CLAIM there was no-one here which is male-cow-excrement as we have people working around the clock for our International support. The drivers are just bare faced liars.

For what it's worth, as a customer you could just ask for a refund. I did that once on a cat post that went missing. Got a refund and it turned up a week later randomly.

I ordered a new CPU for home this morning. My heart sank when I saw it was being delivered by Yodel, fingers crossed I get what I paid for.

In future i'll need to remember to not buy from eBuyer and buy from Scan instead, they use DPD who are at the other end of the spectrum for delivery companies.

I think with Yodel it very much depends on your local delivery driver. The Yodel Delivery drivers are actually employes as self employment, so it's up to them to deliver it and work out their hours. My local delivery driver is actually a really nice guy and he's from Yodel, he's very chatty and always delivers top service to us, he's even tried to deliver in the day when we where out and then waited until around 6 to deliver again because he was worried we'd miss out.

Don't get that type of service with companies like UPS, DPD etc... It really does come down to the point of who is your local delivery man if he's nice and hard working you won't have any issues but if he isn't you will and because they are technically self-employed it's not run the same as UPS or DPD that full-time or part-time employ their drivers.

My next door neighbour drives for Yodel as does another friend of mine and I must admit that it really is a 'bare bones' sort of business and I'm told you're paid on the number of parcels you deliver which probably accounts for why many get 'false signatures'. Even so, you'd think that they'd realise this business model is hurting their reputation. Maybe they don't care?

My heart sank this morning when I got the tracking information through for my delivery from eBuyer which I have booked on Saturday delivery tomorrow, they best not be letting me down.

I wouldn't hold your breath I'm afraid.

Speak with VISA / Mastercard (which ever card you purchased it with online) - get them to battle it for you if eBuyer don't pull their finger out.
