Who has had a sports massage here?

My PT has started doing it and I'm bruising. Is this his inexperience? Don't get me wrong, I was able to do a front loaded squat with my elbows right up after he had finished, but I'm left with finger bruises on my arms :-/ am I just a delicate little flower?

I've never had one personally, but I have heard they can be quite.. vigorous depending on the masseur so I wouldn't be worried about bruising. If you're worried, perhaps ask your PT if it's normal? That doesn't mean you're not a delicate little flower, though.

We have an onsite physio here and yeah, she's vicious, effective but vicious. I've been left with bruises, but I've only needed massage to that level once to dissipate muscle knots around my shoulder blades

Looks more like you've been abducted by aliens than had a massage, but yeah they don't look like anything to worry about at all in my opinion.

I think I'm just worried about what people might think. They know I go to the gym anyways, so they probably won't even ask.

Yeah... nobody has said anything thus far. I think maybe if I was sad and withdrawn they might. Or maybe if I started drinking this Malibu I have been given they might :-P

IF you're bruising easily from a massage then it could be an indication of other issues.

I regularly get deep tissue massages due to various issues, I ache for maybe half hour after and the headache that always follows is annoying but for the next fortnight I am good then I decline and go again. I get them every 3 weeks and they work wonders.

Do keep an eye on it if you're bruising easily though.

Yeah, I'm seeing him in about half an hour, so will talk to him about it then. TOO DEEP TOO FAST!

This was for sorting a laptop :)

Yeah I've had a read that it can be due to blood disorders and stuff... but I think I'm just sensitive. Always have been skin wise. Never been manipulated (physically!) like this before, so suppose I don't know how I react to be squeezed... oh err missus.
