Summer plans

Addition to my summer plans:

Play copious amounts of football

Find new football when we lose ours on the roof

Go down the pub every friday

Play reggae music loudly

 

Could i join you please

Install New DC.

New print, antivirus, remote desktop, deployment server.

 

Re-Install all 250 machines.

Fit more wireless points

Install HDD into laptops.

Configure all printers.

 

All on my own and have been given one week to do it.

Improve my trumpeting skills. Just bought myself the Grade 3 Jazz pieces. The plan is to enter myself in the autumn term.

Replace two computer suites

Reimage the rest of the computers

Replace the PCs in almost every classroom

Set up VLANs

Replace Virtual server with new one

Replace file server with new one

Make main fibre backbone 10GB

Setup new exchange 2013 server

 

Not quite to the end of week two and I've started very little (basically none) of that as teachers keep coming in to have their new tablets configured as they appear unwilling to read the instructions either we sent them or just the ones one the device's screen. Had one in yesterday who had made up the email address she was using for her appleid as she didn't realise that she needed to use a real one.

2 x New Windows 2012R2 Domain Controllers and retire trusty old Windows 2003 servers

80 SSD drives in the IWB PC's and reformat

64 SSD drives in 4 laptop trollies and reformat

140 PC's in suites to reformat and rebuild

400 other PC's to refresh with new software and patches but not reformat

Move SIMS to new server and roll-out Solus 3.x

Various office moves

Create and print ID cards for all staff and students

Use the bowling machine in the sports hall as much as possible to practice batting

New head has decided to move everyone, so we're moving computers and phone extensions everywhere.

Rolling out Office 2013 and Visual Studio 2013.

Re-patching and tidying up about 10 comms cabinets.

Configuring 16 iPad airs.

Testing pool tables. This is my favorite.

We've got pretty extensive building work here over this summer, so we've been emptying out IT suites and all other equipment into storage. On top of that I've so far got this planned on top of the regular maintenance:

 

Relocating our student support/pastoral/SEN teams to new offices

New Wifi install.

15 new IWBs to install

Laptop trolley + 30 laptops for our maths faculty

Laptop trolley + 32 laptops for the infants school we support

Tablet trolley + 13 new iPads for the infants

Moving an IT suite to a floor below its current location
