featured_spectre Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Let's see a pic of the betting slip then Online with bet 365 at the start of the game. 6000-1 and I put a fiver on for a laugh.
rich_tech Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 I quite fancy Germany - Holland for the final, stunning win today for Germany (I know Brazil have lost their "stars", but that doesnt detract from Germanys clinical takedown of them), they looked done in at half time.
fiza Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 If only Hulk had got the rest of the Avengers to play for Brazil they may have stood a chance. 2
elsiegee40 Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 The ultimate humiliation for Brazil has to be when their own fans started cheering on Germany. The Brazilian people love god football, so they started supporting Germany! I was on a post governor meeting visit to the pub and the match was on the big screen. I never expected to see everyone there cheering on Germany!
Seb1780 Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Did anyone see what i saw last night?!?! I saw Norwich playing in the World Cup - at least that's what it looked like! 1
6Foot2 Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Did anyone see what i saw last night?!?! Perhaps not. What did you see?
Tesla Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Or, as someone said on BBC website " I didn't realise England now played in yellow" I only watched the first half, saw the highlights of the other goals this morning, an absolute peach from Schurrle.
6Foot2 Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 ...The Brazilian people love god football... Loving the typo.
sparkeh Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Fun World Cup Fact time: Last night Germany scored two more goals than England did in their last two World Cups campaigns put together! 1
Joanne Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 I saw Norwich playing in the World Cup - at least that's what it looked like! WHERE ARE YOU??? LET'S BE HAVING YOU!!! 2
featured_spectre Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 You know what is really bad....Algeria played much better against Germany thank Brazil did....Algeria gave Germany hell and made them work for their win...Brazil were plain lazy.
Earthling Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 So tonight, Holland will beat Argentina, we'll have a Germany v Holland Final (again) and I'll want them both to lose (again).
foofighterjim Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 At least next season at Villa Park I can sing "its just like watching Brazil" and mean it! 2
featured_spectre Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 So tonight, Holland will beat Argentina, we'll have a Germany v Holland Final (again) and I'll want them both to lose (again). Nah I reckon Argentina have got this one. I feel sorry for whoever faces Germany after that performance. It has to be a bit nerve wracking for anyone to have watched that and know they may have to face them in the final.

Might not be so nerve wracking for any team that doesn't play like a bunch of bufoons. Here's the new Brazil team bus
witch Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 OK So I know nothing about football...I watched the game last night and I want to know what happened? Aren't Brazil supposed to be a really good team? Why did it all go wrong? Can someone give me a proper answer? (I know Germany are good but other teams have fought better against them)
featured_spectre Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 (edited) OK So I know nothing about football...I watched the game last night and I want to know what happened? Aren't Brazil supposed to be a really good team? Why did it all go wrong? Can someone give me a proper answer? (I know Germany are good but other teams have fought better against them) I'll try to be as brief as I can. Brazil were a team with flair and panache, but this year, they've lost that spark. They're still a technically gifted side, but they lost 2 of their best players, one which scored goals, the other which held the defensive line, which made them somewhat formidable. This and there have been allegations that various officials have been bribed to allow the Brazilians to be a bit more wreckless and destructive (dangerous tackles which could break legs, elbows to the face etc). The 2 players they lost were Neymar (who has a broken back from the last game), and Thiago Silva (through a yellow card in the previous game which saw him out of the game last night). Thiago Silva was a player who held the defense together, he rallied them so they didn't play too far forward, and didn't commit such dangerous openings like last night, and Neymar is a goalscorer who does his job very well. The officials last night were allegedly swapped out an hour before the game so that any bribery attempts and allegations could not be made, and this annoyed the Brazilians no end. Germany however, showed just how ruthless they can be. The end result was a team who were clinical and efficient, against a team with 2 of its best players who made sure mistakes were not made as often. Brazil frankly showed that they are a team with no gumption, committed wreck-less fouls (even in this game), and were beaten in the way that they deserved. It also goes to show that when the home crowd starts cheering for the away team (as happened last night), they've done something very very very wrong. Also at the end of the game, the Brazilians were booed off the pitch. Edited July 9, 2014 by featured_spectre 4
sparkeh Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 OK So I know nothing about football...I watched the game last night and I want to know what happened? Aren't Brazil supposed to be a really good team? Why did it all go wrong? Can someone give me a proper answer? (I know Germany are good but other teams have fought better against them) My opinion: This Brazil team is not good. They rely on one player, Neymar, who was missing through injury. They were also missing defender Thiago Silver. Without those they were a complete shambles. Their progress to the semis flattered their performances and was mainly due to biased reffing, last night they had an unbiased ref and they were found out. As I said above, they looked like a team of buffoons. Brazil are in decline as a footballing nation, they have changed the way they play from the old free flowing exciting football to boring pragmatism. In the words of Juninho (old Brazil player and World Cup winner) "Germany taught us how to play football. They played the way we liked to play so we need to sit back, see what is wrong with Brazilian football - especially in the academies, the way we teach them to play. A lot of change will need to come." Here's a good article to read: BBC Sport - World Cup 2014: Brazil must learn lessons from Germany humiliation 1
