Link 1: NASA goes to the World Cup 2014 Brazil!

On Thursday, 12 June 2014, NASA tweeted a Flickr album of images from space of each country playing in the World Cup 2014 Brazil. Here are same images "on a map".

harhar, my better half is half American, so i have to tread carefully :p

They've also resorted to calling diving, flopping.

Yeah, I hate the 'soccer' bit too.

Really good game though, Belgium v USA. If the USA had gone through, it would have caused all manner of navel-gazing over here, I think. After all, they're not supposed to be any good at 'soccer', are they? Certainly not as good as we're supposed to be.

France v Germany will be good.

My predictions for the semi's:

France v Brazil and Netherlands v Messi.....sorry.....Argentina.

Anyone else?

I agree that France will beat Germany, France have really surprised me in this tournament so far, them and columbia are probably the only 2 teams that haven't had a bad game yet

I think you are right, the way Germany defended against Algeria you have got to think that France will be able to exploit that.

I think Columbia have been very impressive. However, I think France haven't had too much of a challenge so far. The teams they've played have been mediocre at best. They exploited Switzerland's frailties which is what I think made them park the bus against Argentina. Germany certainly showed their potential against Portugal and have faced an inspired Ghana, USA and Algeria side who were happy to go out at it hammer and tong. France certainly won't go for the all guns blazing approach against Germany and I think that might just play in to Germany's hands. Ozil really did have a shocker against Algeria though and I'd consider dropping him against France. I still think they need to play with a striker up front, but the only recognised person they have for that role is Klose and he doesn't look like he can do 90 minutes.

Annoyed me how throughout the knockout stages it has always been a closely fought game, but the underdog team has never quite sneaked in a win.

also, Krul for penalties, a bit of geniush, no? (i may be biased as a newcastle fan, we don't have many internationals!)

i agree, the teams look very good, however, i feel a bit of the shine has been lost, as they are all teams people thought would make it, it would be nice to see belgium or columbia or a couple of other teams sneak through, tbh now, i have lost interest as none of the teams are underdogs, saying that, theres a possibility of an BRA vs ARG or a GER vs NTH final, so i guess im not fussed about who wins the first semi, but that wiull dictate who i'd like to win in the second semi...

Well we have the following:

1/3 chance of an All European Final (both countries being neighbours and historical rivals)

1/3 chance of an All South American Final (both countries being neighbours and historical rivals)

1/3 chance of a mixed Final

Even though my picks in the sweepstakes are out, I would LOVE for Germany to win it now.

Still backing Brazil as they're my sweepstake.... No Neymar or Thiago Silva against Germany is a worry. It's a shame about Neymar, I think he would have caused the Germans real problems at the back with them playing such a high line, I can't see Hulk or Fred causing them many problems.
