featured_spectre Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 For anyone that likes lego, or have children that like lego, or grandchildren that like lego. The Daily Mail is doing a GREAT deal starting tomorrow. From the 10th to the 17th of this month, they are giving you a voucher, which you can exchange in WhSmith (on the day) for a lego set. The following are on offer. Saturday - 80p http://www.1000steine.com/brickset/small/30302-1.jpg Lego SpiderMan and Spider Copter Sunday - £1.50 http://www.1000steine.com/brickset/small/30282-1.jpg Lego Movie Super Secret Police Enforcer Monday - 55p http://www.1000steine.com/brickset/small/30246-1.jpg Lego Star Wars Imperial Shuttle Tuesday - 55p http://www.1000steine.com/brickset/small/30189-1.jpg Lego Creator Transport Plane Wednesday - 55p http://www.1000steine.com/brickset/small/30228-1.jpg Lego City Police ATV Thursday - 55p http://www.1000steine.com/brickset/small/30247-1.jpg Lego Star Wars ARC-170 Starfighter Friday - 55p http://www.1000steine.com/brickset/small/30301-1.jpg Lego Batman Batwing Saturday - 80p http://www.1000steine.com/brickset/small/30300-1.jpg Lego Batman Tumbler Each set on Amazon and Ebay are between £8.99 and £15.99, so buying them for £5.85 (total for all of the papers), is a bargain! crt404 Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Just be warned last time the did this the lego sets went incredibly quickly - so be quick!
featured_spectre Posted May 9, 2014 Author Posted May 9, 2014 Yup...I plan to be there VERY early for these...I pass a WH Smith in the morning for work, so will get them around 7:30-8:15am...weekend ones, need to be out the door asap with the daughter to get them.
rad Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 when it was with The Sun, the WHS near school still had them at the end of the day. I might get tomorrows, only cos its spiderman and also im up anyway!
3s-gtech Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Love Lego, hate The Mail. Sadly, my Mail hatred wins there. Can't see a non-rag doing an offer like this though!
SiliconAlley_Sam Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Just forwarded this on to everyone in the office. One of our Account Managers has kids who are mad on Star Wars lego so thank you!
bushby Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Star wars lego i see must get for my collection they can be the mini me versions of the scale kits i have
ICTLady Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 In-laws get the DM but there's no WH Smith anywhere near us or them
featured_spectre Posted May 12, 2014 Author Posted May 12, 2014 You're welcome. @ICTLady some stores (Morrisons, Toys'r'us and WHSmiths) may have spares of previous sets, so could be worth asking. I however have gotten them each day so far, can't complain, daughter (5 on Friday) has been having fun building them, and following the instructions. She is so proud of her achievements in making them. Also, join the lego club, they do giveaways every so often for the "first X amount of people", so far, won a lego chima kit (includes figure with "body armour" and a chima stand), and a lego "transport vehicle". No complaints at all! http://club.lego.com/en-gb
rich_tech Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 started collecting sets already of this stuff for my boy, (hes only 1 atm) as the price just seems to be getting higher and higher for the little plastic lumps ! I can remember my sister having a bucket full of this stuff as a child, which cost my parents £16 then, nowadays that would be about £70 for the amount she had.

I can remember my sister having a bucket full of this stuff as a child, which cost my parents £16 then, nowadays that would be about £70 for the amount she had. I have a tub of the stuff at my mums in her attic, well over 4000 blocks in there. Looked in Argos for a set today, £15 for 224 blocks! Todays money, if I were to match that amount for my daughter, it would be £270 when my mum spent less than £30 on it total (she got them in boxes of 500 pieces). My brothers and I loved playing with legos as a kid. Also, these sets are on ebay, and they're priced up (and have bids) between £8-£16...its nuts!
rad Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 @SiliconAlley_Sam You guys could do a staff outing to Morrisons to get your lego! (It's about 100 meters away from their office)
SiliconAlley_Sam Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 It is very handy! Especially for my daily football sticker run.
rickjames Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 Slightly different but is anyone collecting the Lego Simpsons figures? I'm getting some more today but it's inevitable I'm gonna need to trade a few, I have 13 and need Krusty, Ned and Mr. Burns before having a complete collection.
Iain.Faulkner Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 I've bought a couple (got done by advertising in WHSMiths :-) )....I'm not sure If I'll be "collecting" as such, but may well be tempted to buy a few more :-) I was very happy though, in the two packs I've bought I got Itchy and Scratchy :-)
sted Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 ive got the house (dont do it the internal layout is completely wrong and it bugs the heck out of me) i suspect next time theres a set i want on lego website i will get a few packs (got vouchers/reward points to spend)

Hi @rickjames, I have a spare Krusty if it helps? Still sealed in the bag, but quite easy to tell it's him. Do you have any duplicates?

I will in the next day or so when I'm due to pop to the shops for more, where I'll inevitably have a few duplicates. If you could keep him on hold that'd be great!

featured_spectre Posted May 19, 2014 Author Posted May 19, 2014 I was tempted to collect the lego pieces, however I can buy a full set on ebay for about £40, and guaranteed to get each piece, whereas if I were to buy the packs individually, I can't guarantee which piece I will get etc.

Weird huh.

Only just... have Ned, Nelson and Scratchy
