Netwacky87 Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 I decided that I would give up Coffee...I worked out that I was having in the region of 6-8 cups a day, sometimes more! Day 1: Fine, not a problem... Day 2: Eh, feeling a bit rubbish Day 3: BAD BAD BAD headache! Didnt sleep very well! Day 4: BAD headache, again didnt sleep the best! Day 5: Fine and refreshed, best night sleep in a while! I didnt realise how much an effect coffee has on the body! on Day 4 it was quite bad! Stonking headache! Now, a cup of tea a day & this peppermint tea from sainsburys! very nice stuff! My advice: Do it if you want to, but hide for a few days, I was very irritable!!
MattDLEA Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Been tempted to do this for a while but i like coffee to much, May cut down a bit though. As if i did a detox Id probably go back to drinking it the week after

sparkeh Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Switch to decaf? Personally I avoid anything that decaff, pretty harsh solvents are used to strip out the caffeine and make it into the coffee. Studies have shown that decaf coffee drinkers have a higher incidence of rheumatoid arthritis which has been linked to the chemicals in decaff.
Greenbeast Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 I remember the time I didn't have coffee for 24 hours, it led to a 24 hour headache, and I was only on 2-3 cups a day!!
jamesfed Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 *currently sitting in my local Weatherspoons enjoying the unlimited filter coffee refills until 2pm* Both the best and worst thing I have ever found!
Poults Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 I've only been drinking coffee for about 5-6 months, one cup a day Mon-Friday, every Saturday afternoon i get a mild headache which i can only put down to coffee as i rarely get a headache otherwise.
Tesla Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 I've had a history of headaches, and i never really took to coffee until i started working full time... would wonder what i'd be like without coffee now though!
ZeroHour Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 For those wanting a decent decaf: Rave Coffee
Chris_ Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 I used to drink coffee and was fine, then a few years ago during a quiet spell at school the coffee intake increased slightly... I started having heart palpitations, wasn't particularly pleasant. Went to see the doctor and they said to reduce the caffeine so I went decaf and was fine. More recently I've swapped to green tea and am feeling better for it
mrbios Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 I don't like coffee, so i find myself drinking redbull or monster regularly expensive and not good for me, i never ever have more than one of those in a day though, and i always stick entirely to the sugarfree variants of each.
detjo Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Gave up coffee ages ago. Switched to break fluid and never looked back. That sh!t's got some kick!
