Very blowy and wet here but nothing to get worked up about [could be some flooded roads and enforced but that is about it: Other places have it much worse]

The (freezing) rain is coming down sideways here already and the wind is getting up!

I hope we don't get any power outages during the night or any major water leaks!!!!

Yup. We're getting the tail end of the super-high winds here. Our mini-buses have stopped using the sea-front today as the wind was knocking them all over the place!

We've got flickering power, roof leaks, the string has snapped on our flag pole so the flag is all over the place, our drains are slowly but surely filling up. The last few days, our water pumps in the boiler house (its underground, so it fills with water if you don't have pumps on) failed and we had a foot of water in there...

We've had to lock one set of doors shut since the wind was blowing them open all the time, and most of the 1960's wooden windows have driving rain coming through. Thankfully the sun has now come out during a break in the clouds.

Met Office has just put this on Twitter

Wind gust of 92 mph recorded in Mumbles, South Wales. Also 81 mph at Aberdaron and 76 mph at Capel Curig in North Wales.

Wind picking up in Liverpool, too. I can see the poplars in the park opposite taking a bit of a hit. It's also triggering my asthma (and I'm still indoors!). I can't abide windy weather.

Our flag pole is bending all over the place - our site manager wanted a bunch of us to go out and take it down! I've said no as I don't want to be killed a flag pole flapping around and braining me!

It's been blue skies with a 'bit' of wind here in Preston however is is starting to get a bit dark now. Hardly any rain at all today, we tend to get off lightly here when it comes to bad weather.

The wind here (South Wales) has been nuts. A side panel of a nearby building peeled off and went flying just after lunch.

Cycling home should be fun.

You cycle? In South Wales?

Wherabouts? I'll wager you're not in Bedlinog.

Sidways hail earlier someone left a door open and the hail piled up in the corner of a corridor - very strange sight.

Wind is utterly bonkers must be 100mph - I had to actually stop moving and concentrate no not getting blown away earlier some HUUUUGE gusts.

The windows in the admin office doesn't shut/seal properly, the wind is causing it to make a loud whistling noise when the wind really picks up, i was in there for 15 minutes and it drove me crazy!

Anyone else remember a 'proper' flood - google 'Carlisle flood 2005' and look at some of the images.

Strangely, the news/government response didn't seem quite as high-profile then.

So, for anyone who built in the Thames floodplain (=valley) especially in the last 10 years, very little sympathy.

Really? It's mental here up the road! It sounds like the roof is about to peel away from the warehouse! Everytime someone opens the office door all the celing tiles take off and rearrange themselves!
