Android 4.4 is supported on nearly all of the Nexus devices that currently support Android 4.3, including the Nexus 4, the 2012 and 2013 Nexus 7s, and the Nexus 10. However, 2011's Galaxy Nexus won't be receiving the update. The Google Play edition Galaxy S 4 and HTC One should also receive the update at some point soon. Those phones received Android 4.3 just eight days after the Nexus devices started to get it, so the wait shouldn't be too long.

I wonder if someone will create a KitKat ROM for that phone considering 4.4 is meant to work better on low-end devices?

Why on earth would someone buy a Nexus 5 from an eBay scalper for £100 more than it costs from Google Play? Are they mad!

Ebuyer have gone live with pre-orders! £599!!!!! They say they have an allocation of 50.

Almost eight hours later and eBuyer still have 50 available.

I got mine, going to replace my aging gnex, very surprised it is not getting 4.4

 

Their servers held up much better. No timeout, etc

 

I have a number that I called that leads to Google customer support. Got a rep in 5 mins... Very helpful.

 

Fwiw, usa also has to wait till 5/11 for shipping if not later.

Some people in the US have already had their N5's shipped. I have just received confirmation that mine has been shipped too, although the courier is ParcelForce.

Does saying 'OK Google' do anything on everyone elses N5 as mine does nothing. Thought it was meant to open Google now.

 

Also needed to call T-Mobile as I have the large Sim card and the N5 takes the micro card.

Just worked it out

 

Change voice search to English US in settings, then it will work

My N5 arrived this morning, to replace my Desire HD. I can't fault it so far. The extra screen space is well used, and the phone itself is only 1cm taller and is much lighter than the HD.

very impressed so far. Lighter than the n4, same width (roughly) but larger screen. The N4 also used to go for walks off completely flat surfaces, this stays nicely where it is.

 

Some apps like nova launcher (my fav) dont work so stock launcher it is for now.

Loving this phone so far, screen looks brilliant, 4.4 is so smooth and quick, battery life for me is the best i have had with a phone for my needs. Only thing that i really have a problem with is the external speaker quality is pretty poor, but i rarely use it so can look past that.

There's a beta version of Nova Launcher that is compatible with KitKat. I have it installed on my N5.

Being a brand new device with good kit in it, I would assume that it would not struggle in any way what so ever if that's your concern.
