My nearest shopping area has a 'story lane' which in itself sounds quite cute, it's not until you find out that's where the library is do you understand the full majesty of the situation!

Between the Strand and Embankment, next to Charring Cross Station, the area was sold for development by some toff (I think it was John Adam Villiers, Duke Of Buckingham) many years ago. One of the conditions was that the new roads would bear his names; all of them.

 

Hence Villiers Street, Buckingham Street, John Adam Street, and Of Alley. Of Alley has been renamed by some cretin on the council, but the sign still says "Formerly Of Alley"

Similarly, I believe there is a housing estate in Towcester, the nearest settlement to the Silverstone race circuit, where all the roads are named are famous racing drivers, including a road called Graham Hill :-)

You are almost right (I'm a former resident of Towcester), the road is actually Graham Hill Road. It's called the Shires estate although I'm not sure why given that all the street names are associated with motor racing.

Not quite a street name but it always amuses me that Everton FC deliberately named a shop " Everton Two" in a shopping mall called Liverpool One, so that address reads Everton two, Liverpool One.

Must admit, I do love a good holiday camp, May Half Term last year, I had to get away, to last minute booking over the bank holiday weekend and I went down to Butlins Bognor Regis, had a great time.

I went to sandy balls last October, given my medical issues last year I thought my Mrs was taking the p155 booking us to go there but it was very nice.
