Hi EduGeekers!

 

 

I Turned 34 yesterday and its the first time a really have felt my age (Even though I dont look it...Honest lol ).. Every prevoius year I have still felt 21 but this year I really do feel my age..

 

Have you ever had this experiance of feeling your age or older and if so what age it you get this horrible feeling?

I can totally feel your pain. I turned 23 yesterday, and i feel 50, even though i'm really athletic.

 

I look 14 though, but i FEEL 50. Need to play football 7 times a week i think lol

Yikes, yes, it is quite concerning when I realised that some of my colleagues where not even born when I started working in IT in schools! ;-(

My 50th birthday now seems like a distant memory. However when I think about other 'landmarks' [leaving school, graduation, getting my first job,...] some seem like very recent memories. I am sure that you will feel the same when you get to this point.

Every time I wake up with a hangover. Especially when I've not even had enough to get drunk the night before. It never used to happen...

 

(it may be my own fault for preferring real ale, red wine and whiskey as drinks - pretty much the worst combination for a hangover)

Just comming up to my 50th later this year, age was just a number until last year my wife had her 50th and organised a party etc, now I think about that number and how old I am. Never used to bother me! Leave me alone! Get asked what am I going to do for my birthday to celebrate, don't know, never really celebrated them before, head in sand mode, if I don't recognise them it's just a number and it means nothing, stay young in the head even if the body these days says otherwise! But should I do something or just ignore it like every other one?

I remember feeling old when I was about 34. it lasted a few years and faded. The old feeling came back with an almighty bump when I hit 40. I can not explain the feeling but my body fell apart over night.

When I was a child I had a fever

My hands felt just like two balloons

Now I got that feeling once again,

I can't explain, you would not understand

(or perhaps even more appropriate)

 

So you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking

Racing around to come up behind you again.

The sun is the same in a relative way but you're older,

Shorter of breath and one day closer to death.

 

Every year is getting shorter never seem to find the time.

Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines

Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way

The time is gone, the song is over,

Thought I'd something more to say.

im 25 in just over a week...

 

I dont feel old at all, I didnt realise I was going to be 25 until someone asked me how old I was going to be!

 

Ive only ever felt old once and that was when my brother started talking about things we used to do as kids.

I didn't feel old when I turned 40 - I felt oddly liberated. Suddenly I really didn't care what people thought of me whereas before I had only pretended not to care.

I think not living where you grew up helps as you have no memories of places as they were.

 

I know a lot of you are the age of my children (24,22 and 20) or even younger but what I love about edugeek is seeing that the different generations CAN be friends. Yes, there are differences of opinion and behaviour, but that doesn't stop the friendship, I don't think.

I have always been friends with my children's friends - not gone out of my way to be, but children are much more self-confident than when I was young, and whereas I would just say a quiet "hello" to my friends' parents, my children's friends will talk to me as an equal and a friend, which is lovely.

Age is just a number - those of you feel old at 25 or even 35 are completely mad and you will see that in later years. Honestly, you don't feel any older inside as the years rack up ! :)

I think you're wrong there, young man, I would say they're the best combination for a hangover.

My boss has been working with one of our Clients since before I was born!

The definition of old - when you prefer pubs to clubs just so you can have a chat with your friends and hear yourself think! I'm a member of this group...
