Alternative to Impero

Can anyone suggest other alternatives to Impero. Ive been asked by manager to look and price alternatives.

Ab tutor is much cheaper and does the job fine.

LanSchool was our preferred option when we looked at classroom management a couple of years ago - we didn't get on with ABTutor (problems with install, not as user friendly) and NetSupport was too expensive and far more than we required. LanSchool works brilliantly, looks good, and is a one off purchase - no year-on-year support.

ABtutor (Class room Management, IT Support, Remote Control etc) and Burconix Ltd BCX Management Tools (Network Management, User Management, Printer Management, App Deployment etc)

Just out of interest are using Impero and or just looking at solutions at the moment.

obviously I need to point out that AB tutor just replaces the classroom management part and not ALL of Impero.

AB tutor is the best, it's also much cheaper and it does a really good job.

Policy Central Business & Education Internet Monitoring software - Policy Central Enterprise but I do know it does't do the classroom management aspect. So you would need a additional app such as AB Tutor to cover that base.

You would also need application/url blocking, print,power and patch management if you are truly replacing Impero as policy central is just a e-safety monitoring solution.

However finding a product that does everything Impero does will be hard if not impossible! the features are amazing however the price is not. I would like to see a "lite" version where you can pick the add ons.

+1. I would like the option to use Impero purely as a classroom management and support tool and be able to choose not to have things such as the print, power and patch management to save money.

Another vote for AB Tutor, a little more clunky than Impero but does the job for us (remote support, watching students, shutting down PCs etc)

We used AB tutor before and liked it, but had some issues in RDS environment. Currently using Impero, but echo the pricing and features comment. Renewal figure seems to be picked out of the air at random - claiming it's to fund integration of GFI software... but we don't want or need those aspects so why do we have to pay for them?!

Impero is a really good monitoring software ! I just think it's really expensive.

For everything it does, I don't think Impero is overpriced. But in our experience it does more than our staff need it to do, and so some of the features get wasted to a certain extent. A standard version with a choice of bolt-ons would be great, but I suspect not easy to now provide.

I agree, it's not overpriced for what it does.

We used all the features and it's really good.
