From what you have said the way it turns off... I would suspect the lamp might need replacing. Might be worth taking it out and seeing if its gone pop.

Policy Central Business & Education Internet Monitoring software - Policy Central Enterprise but I do know it does't do the classroom management aspect. So you would need a additional app such as AB Tutor to cover that base.

What about using the schtasks in the cmd, ok you might have a very big file to cover all your computers on your network: schtasks /create /S /U domain\username /P password /sc DAILY /tn SystemShutdown /tr "%systemroot%\system32\shutdown.exe -s -t 10 -f" /ru System /mo 1 /st 20:00:00 This will (should) set up a task on the computer to run as SYSTEM to turn the PC off at 8pm Or if you can run the it in a logon script use: schtasks /create /sc DAILY /tn SystemShutdown /tr "%systemroot%\system32\shutdown.exe -s -t 10 -f" /ru System /mo 1 /st 20:00:00 But the user who logs on will need to be able to set up a scheduled task. Hi all Thanks for your comments, I have been to the head of IT and he likes the look of the Canon i-Sensys LBP7750cdn. So it looks like the plan is now to get the canon install it in his room and remove the other colour printers. I keep them just if people start making sounds about the missing printers. He doesn't mind people coming into his room to print, but it might encourage students to get the teachers to have the job printed on the colour copier. At our next all staff meeting, and curriculum leaders he is going to tell them that the days of free staff top ups are over and all new toners are paid for by a central pot and departments are expected to pay for top ups for their staff. Printers are installed on the Print Server and shared, stations add the printer when students and staff login. A black and white printer is also installed in the room.

We have PCounter the problem is staff have always got "free top ups" and they just print class sets (30 print outs) of 2 to 5 page documents.

Hi all Hope this is the right place for this & my apologises if I am repeating. At my school we currently have colour printers in all three of our ICT rooms, but now we're getting fed up with the cost of the toners and the speed in which they are used up. So the plan is to only have black and white in two of the ICT rooms and the colour printer is in the Head of IT room. Now at present his room has a HP Colour LaserJet 2606dtn, which is not bad until 30 PCs send a 20MB Publisher, Powerpoint or some other large graphic file then we can be waiting 30 minutes for the printer to start. So he would like a new colour printer with the following: 1.Must cost no more than £500.00 2.Must have Network capabilities 3.Must have a duplex unit 4.Must be cheap to re toner and maintain 5.Must be fast and deal with what ever the student send to it in a reasonable time (I know, I am asking for a lot) Some of the ones I have looked at already are: Epson AcuLaser C2800DN Epson AcuLaser C1100DN (can't seem to find this one on the net, but I believe such a device does exist) Samsung CLP-620DN Is anyone using any of these, are you happy with the result? Hi all I have had a look round and can't find the answer I am looking for, but I apologies if I have put this in the wrong place, or it’s already been discussed in another thread. We use EMBC email, and a few staff (mainly our admin & SLT) uses Outlook Express, to download their emails. One of our VPs has got a damaged inbox.dbx file, so all her emails have vanished from the inbox. I have revered her mail box to how it was when Thursday's backup was done (we don't do a Friday, don't know why...). Does any one know a way to recover the emails within the dbx file, with out parting with any money? Thank Rob

I have managed to restore system state from a network location, the server, which was a DC, had a problem with the active directory being damaged; the server was booted using the Directory Services Restore mode from the F8 boot menu.

As the mail box still exists can’t you just recreate the user and then I think if you look into the exchange system manager you can reconnect the mailbox to the user. How to Recover a Deleted Mailbox in Exchange

Yes I am still looking for the hotfix for Studio MX 2004 , and I would be most grateful I you could make it available to me.

I have already tried using Winstalle to capture the registry. From what I have found out / been told this is something to do with the way this version mx stores its key in the registry and uses the hardware ident to scramble the key, and when the package is deployed to a different computer the software can’t decipher the product key because the hardware ident has changed. Due to its age all the links on the Internet to any fix or updates no longer work, and the ones that do have no affect of the problem. From the advice I got from Adobe when I contacted them I put a posting on the adobe forum, and was told in a reply. "Too bad you're stuck with the most buggy of all Flash versions." maybe this is one of those bugs.

Hi All My apology if this is repeating a topic or is in the wrong place. At the school where I work we have a really old copy of Studio MX 2004 education edition, and we have a CSE network and use the Prism Package system for deploying applications. We are currently having problems with Flash MX 2004, when it has been deployed it asks for the product key again on the first run. Bit annoying when the students start tyring to use it. CSE have suggested doing a network install of Studio MX, does anyone know how to do this? I have looked on the Adobe web site and I can’t locate anything helpful. If anyone has instructions / guidance on how to do this I would be grateful. Thanks Rob
