  1. I wouldn't mind using AP2 but I still use ap 1 because I want to restore a backup with an app layout, settings pre loaded (notifications off, keyboards with multi language etc etc).
  2. Dear Team, I can't supervise new iPads anymore. Before I go in details you should know a few things: I use AP 1.7.2 OSX 10.11.6 (because if I upgrade AP 1.7.2 won't be compatible apple said to me) The mac I use has been restored from a TimeMachine after the other one had a mother board issue (not sure this is important) When I try to supervise a new iPad, I get the error: "The activation record is not valid". To supervise the iPad, all I do it give it a name and click supervise. I don't restore any backups or apply profiles to it yet... I tried supervising different iPads but no luck! I can still sync all the rest of my iPads and update apps etc etc. Any ideas?
  3. You might need to update your GPO template to office 2013 and you should have the option. I had to re do all my gpos for Word 2016 and downloaded the admx for office 2016
  4. Is that iPad managed by Apple Configurator ? If so make sure to check what profiles are being pushed to the iPad and allow the iPad to be connected to any computer.
  5. Here is what apple says. You can also take a look at this. Ideally you would like to start fresh with a new OSX install but I think you can not download Apple Configurator 1.7.2 from the macstore anymore. It means you will need to move on to AC2 and I personally hate it ! It seems like TimeMachine is probably your best option i'm afraid.
  6. Your driver was more up to date and complete than the other from the HP Support so I used yours.
  7. Yes and no. I had to delete the driver from MDT and WDS. Update deployment shares. I then re imported the drivers and updated fully the deployment and it's now working.
  8. Thanks ! I'll add this to the MDT and WDS and let you know. I tried the previous version but this one seems more up to date.
  9. I didn't try the SP73440 but I will soon. If I can't get it to work i'll install windows via DVD and get the hardware ID.
  10. Hi, We have a few new machines here and i'm having issues deploying W7 x64. MDT Usually behaves perfectly but this time I can't make it work. As usual I added drivers to the MDT server, update the deployment shares, replace the Boot image on WDS but it won't go past the connection wizard. Here is a screenshot: As you can see it's not related to the credentials (no I didn't change my password and Yes the password is correct on the bootstrap.ini and rules). The machine can't ping anything and doesn't have an ip ad. So it has to be driver related. I go all drivers x64 form HP and added them to WDS and MDT but it still won't work. The exact reference of the ethernet card a Integrated Realtek RTL8111HSH-CG GbE. I tried getting PXE drivers straight for the Realtek website but can't find anything useful. Here is the PC. Anyone could help ?
  11. If you have a QNAP NAS Server use QFile HD. It's free an easy to use. All pupils here airdrop work to the teacher's iPad and then uses QFile HD to send all documents on NAS.
  12. They sent me a PDF too. They also said they will email me when they are looking for beta testers. So far I installed IOS 9.3 on one iPad but I can't test the multi users until the admin portal is released.
  13. This is what we use: https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/printer-pro-print-documents/id393313223?mt=8 Keep in mind all printers aren't compatible ! Also this isn't like normal printing, it means you can't do share print, you need to use the app. I got the app with 200 licences last year.
  14. Hi, So it can come from 2 things: 1-if the iPad has profile on it, make sure your restriction profile allow the iPad to connect with an other machine that apple configurator or MDM. 2-if your iPad doesn't have a profile restriction, on your Windows, right click on Computer, Manage, go to device manager, then Universal Serial Bus (USB), right click of Apple iPad and uninstall drivers. Make sure you tick, yes delete curent drivers. Now connect your iPad, wait till the drivers are installed and boummm it works again
  15. Same for me ! There is just not enough info and documentation. Here is the official AC2 help guide but it seems like it was written for dummies... http://help.apple.com/configurator/mac/2.0/
  16. The migration worked, it just the UI that is different ! It's hard to get use to... It seems like you don't have groups anymore, or supervised iPad tab, unless you plug your device to the mac.
  17. We have QNAP NAS Server here. QNAP has an app called QfileHD and that's what the students use to send pictures/videos on the NAS server. At the moment, students do not have access to the QfileHD because they would upload to many pictures, only staff can upload to the NAS. The students AirDrop the files to the Staff iPad and then the teacher will upload the pics to the NAS.
  18. Ahh nice, I didn't know that. I signed in with my normal apple ID that I used on iTunes to redeem codes and then push apps to AC 1.7. But still, I have so many iPads that are on AC1.7 and licences that are already installed. As long as AC1.7 works I'll stick to it. I might use AC2 when IOS10 is there, and only setup the new iPads with this.
  19. I'm having this issue as well. I can restore a backup but then to supervise the iPad it erase and re install IOS9... So pointless ! I also can't send paid apps via AC2 as apparently I need to migrate all licences to VPP managed licences and send them via MDM. I don't want the boys' iPads on MDM !!!! So I think I will stick to AC 1.7 until there is more people using it and more people giving help and support.
  20. AC 1.7 still works on El Captain
  21. I'm on El Captain and using Apple Configurator 2. It seems like it migrated all the data from the previous version fine I feel glad because a lot of users didn't get that far ! Now I need to learn how to use Apple Configurator 2 and it seems really complicated compare to before. It seems like I will have to setup a DEP and move all my curent redemtion codes to VPP and MDM even if I would prefer not to as it's not useful for us a school to use DEP. So far I can not use apple configurator 2 to do what I was doing in the old version: -Prepare iPad and restore from a backup -push apps and profiles to a group of iPads. It seems like until there is more documentation on how to use apple configurator 2, I will stay away from it.
  22. Every time you change a profile settings, on the iPad you need to delete the profile (settings, general, profiles and delete your profiles so it synchronises the new settings). For some reason when I change the wifi settings, unless I delete the profile manually, the iPad doesn't pick up the new settings
  23. Also make sure you enter the correct username and password domain\username et use the correct security type.
  24. Hi, First you need to add the certificates on your mac (just double tap on the certificate). Now go to keychain, my certificates, double click on the certificate and change the trust settings to always trust. On the apple configurator side, open you profile go to certificates and make sure they are all green, if not change the settings to tryst or always trust. Now go to the wifi tab in apple configurator still, scroll down and go to the tab trust nest to protocols. Make sure you tick all your certificates and thats it
