As said elsewhere, the book has more background details and the process of harvesting Astrophage. It's a book a keep going back to, though I list to it as an audio book read by Ray Porter who does a great performance out of reading it (Rocky is really well done).

 

Really loved the movie and am waiting for it to come out on DVD so I can watch it again (I know it's going to be on streaming but I don't want to have to keep paying for it). My wife watched it and enjoyed it but I had to explain some of the bits that were missed from the book.

I'm currently reading Project Hail Mary. I loved the film, and the book is much, much better!

It's told from the first person perspective and has a lot more science, but so well written that it explains everything very well indeed.
Yes, there are a lot of changes from the film (for obvious reasons), but at the same time, answers a lot of the questions that the film gave no answers to.
If you haven't read it yet, then you really should.

Bridge of Storms by Philip Reeve

 

The sequel to Thunder City sees the survivors attempting to get by as adventurers for hire. They're hired to set up protection for the city of Musieon but things soon get far more complicated.

 

Another fun romp from Mr Reeve that includes a couple of laugh out loud jokes. So far I've enjoyed this prequel series far more that the Fever Crumb books.

Six of Crows: A Darker Shore by Leigh Bardugo

 

 

 

Set after the Crows duology this tells it's story via minutes of a council meeting and letters between Kaz and Inez (and there are hidden communications). One for fans of the Crows only, this is kinda expensive for a short story but it's beautifully packaged and well worth it if you are a fan.

Re-reading John Scalzi's Old Man's War atm as it's been a while since I first got my hands on it. I have the whole series, so expect to get finished with them all around December with any luck.

Did you know that there's a (relatively) new one? The Shattering Peace was released last year. It's pretty good.

Don't know if its of any interest for you, but I have 2 books out on amazon, they are IT comedy books about life in a secondary school.  If that's not your thing then I have just finished reading a good book called "The Vacant" by Lyle Malik.  It's a gothic style horror, more about psychological torment that jump scares.

1st book - Have you tried turning it off and on again.

2nd book - Ctrl, Alt Survive
