Not me, 6 weeks off! WooHoo! Starting 2pm Thursday.

My special holiday shirt is being worn tomorrow, being a loud and vile Hawaiian type shirt. The kind that looks good on over weight middle aged geeks.

4 of us, 115 new workstations, 100 new laptops, lots of room moves, new images for all 600+ workstations, lots of backend improvements, re-arranging our office, re-cabling at least 2 cabinets and lots more! Oh yes we're very busy this summer :(

I'm supposed to do one week during the hokolidays, but it's going to be a minimum of 2 as there's only me to do everything.

The kids broke up yesterday, so at least I can go to work dressed in something less smart and more appropriate for crawling under desks!

Sounds like mine - plus a Video Conferencing suite install and installing our internally hosted VLE.

There's 1 of me. I'm in all but 3 days of the 6 week holiday. That time off is to go to the Big Chill festival - which I will definately be requiring!!!

I've got loads to do - including PAT testing which I detest, new server to install and a few new workstations.

Gone are the days of watching a series of 24 over 3 days *cough* October Half Term *cough*

Yep - in for all 6 long, busy weeks. Too many jobs to mention and still getting more added to the list by people who "forgot" to tell me their plans when they thought about them 3 months ago. Gits.

Yep, same here, 120 new machines, 80+ interactive boards to install, all 11 media cabinets to be re cabled, new comms system, a few room moves.

We usually have about 20 room moves, however, why move machines for staff which change dept when all machines have the same software on them, so it has been decided the machines go with the position and not the person, there have a been a few tears!

and the best bit is, there are only two of us, as the other guy resigned and left yesterday! And hopefully I’ll be transferring during the holidays too! :)

Our kids broke up last week, I have already had a clear out of the servers - user accounts, data etc. I'm half way through getting ready the new starters and moving students to the relevant groups etc. Thats all scripted.

Yesterday I installed SP2 accross our 2003 servers....Keeping a close eye on that....

I've got 24 new laptops arriving Aug + 6 more AP to install in various buildings. Going to rip out the old cabinet and give everything a good dust and have a general clear out. A few new projectors to replace our old ones, a wireless projector for our school hall & for the lunchtimes I have episodes of Family Guy & American Dad to watch.....

I would like to take this opportunity to tell the 2 people, who don't have any work over summer, that I hate them!
Here here, with the up most respect of course! :)

Work for me so far this summer (this is more my own notes then anything lol):

- Export new pupil details from CMIS and import indirectly into active directory (for both schools)

- Do the same as above but for e-mail accounts as opposed to network logins (for both schools)

- Delete all old network and e-mail accounts for both schools

- Remove by force a broken PC in reception in one school which has been stuck there since before I started because someone lost the key to the cage (it wasn't me, I promise - this job is going to take all day most likely, those cages are pretty secure!)

- Create a new image for the old ICT Suite PCs we are keeping and redisribute them around the one school

- Create new image for two new office machines in one school and replace the old PCs

- Scan in loads of work for the school website and publish it online

- Attempt to sort out updated .adm for IE7 (currently struggling with it) in the one school

- Tidy work areas in both schools as much as possible

- Tidy up ICT Suites

- Tidy up a wire cabinet that got messy with the installation of new ict suite

I think that's it so far. Might watch the series of 24 that I have missed so far :p

150 Thin Clients which we cant even start putting in place until the building works are finished in the required areas, some of which are scheduled to finish on the last friday of summer, kids start back on the tuesday. Fun.

re-image 120 machines: 60 of which we cant do in first 2 weeks as they are being used for summer school, the other 60 we can image, but then need to move out of the room while it's painted, then move back.

config 18 new laptops and rotate 20 to other staff

move CMIS and ePortal on to a new server

bit of maintenance on 3 other rooms (keyboards / mice / etc)

replace one curriculum server

set-up an application server

add all the new users

we're also having an new office built (toilet converted) for us, so i'm moving out of my "office" AKA the cupboard.

Half the staff are moving offices in a major re-shuffle of locations, so we will also be moving PC's, telephones, etc. to all the new locations.

There's 3 of us. I also hate all of you with nothing to do. If you get bored we're in Birmingham!
