elsiegee40 Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 Toblerone triangle change upsets fans | BBC News It's only in the UK apparently and the company said they had to do it or increase the price due to the post Brexit exchange rate problems
Garacesh Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 due to the post Brexit exchange rate problems A spokeswoman for Mondelez acknowledged that the foreign exchange rate was currently "not favourable", but added: "This change wasn't done as a result of Brexit." I can appreciate what people are saying. It does look daft, but so long as it tastes the same, who's really fussed about the shape? It all does down the same way.

Andrew_C Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 Ummm... Just guessing, but it looks like it has less chocolate in the bar?
sted Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 That is so not the point. Toblerone is supposed to be impossible to snap for a start! im just going to leave this here (i have no speakers so audio might be nsfw i dont know)
Garacesh Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 Ummm... Just guessing, but it looks like it has less chocolate in the bar? It does. They've dropped the weight by 10% (though it looks more like they've cut out every 2nd triangle, so more like 30-40%!) citing increased cost of ingredients. It's either use less ingredients and keep the price the same, or keep the bar the same and increase its price, they say. im just going to leave this here (i have no speakers so audio might be nsfw i dont know) WHEN WAS THIS A THING AND WHY WAS I NOT TOLD ABOUT IT?!
mikeprice Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 Toblerone triangle change upsets fans | BBC News It's only in the UK apparently and the company said they had to do it or increase the price due to the post Brexit exchange rate problems Rubbish - they have all been reducing the amount of Choccy in bars for a while Hence the nice curvy Dairy Milk - the curves use less Chocolate that taking it all the way to the corner Also the new varieties with stuff in them (like biscuits etc) - means less chocolate

WHEN WAS THIS A THING AND WHY WAS I NOT TOLD ABOUT IT?! you can but them now if you want i think when looking for that video i found one for £45. Warning eating 4.5kg of toblerone probably isnt good for you and you would have to make a refrigeration exception for it (ie dont refrigerate it like you should with basically all chocolate) or you wont just break teeth you will break jaws lol Edited November 8, 2016 by sted
Andrew_C Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 Rubbish - they have all been reducing the amount of Choccy in bars for a whileYou know; chocolate bars have been getting smaller for so long, they ought to have disappeared completely by now.
Disaster Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 Still going to buy them at the Airport on my way home from skiing. Can't go home to the missus empty handed...
Garacesh Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 you can but them now if you want i think when looking for that video i found one for £45. They're on Amazon for sixty quid. Who's feeling generous?
synaesthesia Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 I can literally eat a whole full size mars bar in one bite. I know I've gotten older and uglier but my mouth hasn't gotten any bigger. I know prices are always rising and can remember buying a Mars Bar for 20 pence, but I'd rather pay more and get the same than pay more and also get less! * There may be some bias in this post, as a self-confessed chocoholic. 1
Arthur Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 Chocolate oranges have also been hollowed out this year. It's outrageous!!! Source: https://goo.gl/hUk2Ya (URL shortened since it contains a swear word) http://i.cubeupload.com/XEVneL.jpg

I don't like Toblerone, but chocolate orange is a Christmas favourite. Edited November 8, 2016 by jinnantonnixx
Novalee Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 Shouldn't have opened this... I love Toblerone and Chocolate Orange. @Disaster - I always find Toblerone more expensive in the airport? 1

Griff Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 I actually quite like the change.. don't get me wrong it looks awful! but at least I won't have to pop my thumbs back in place everytime I want a piece
Popular Post X-13 Posted November 8, 2016 Popular Post Posted November 8, 2016 Am I the only one who doesn't refrigerate chocolate? I never have it long enough to warrant it... 5
sted Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 I never have it long enough to warrant it... i just find i prefer the taste of it when its cold its not like i will refuse it i just much prefer it cold
Garacesh Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 Fairly certain that a refrigerated toblerone has a higher Mohls rating than carbon nanotubes.. 2
DJ-1701 Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 I'm surprised they didn't call it the new healthier Toblerone... because there is less of it.
sted Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 Fairly certain that a refrigerated toblerone has a higher Mohls rating than carbon nanotubes.. thats why it gets an exception lol
rich_tech Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 It looks stupid to the point where I would rather see the price rise to keep it the same. It doesn't have anything to do with brexit really, Mondelez/Kraft have been consistently doing this since they took over Cadbury in the UK, upping prices, fiddling with recipes and dropping amounts, they have shrunk most products they sell now and fiddled with recipes to the point where I don't eat it these days as it seems now to set off some weird sensitivity reaction with my teeth when I try some of the Dairy Milk bars. Strange as other chocolate brands don't seem to do this it my teeth.
