Anyone else getting bombarded daily with spam about Connect @ BETT?

For a tech-based show, their lack of an unsubscribe option is kinda annoying.

I'm not sure I'm going this year, and even if I was, I'd be browsing not meeting, so I don't want to fill in their form to match me with companies.

If it helps at all i can say that even as a supplier i too get bombarded.

then usually for a month or 2 after i get follow ups to see how i found the show even if i never attended haha

Yeah it is annoying. I don't need to know how many people have completed the profile section or whatever. I've done it, so maybe they should send those emails to only those who haven't done it yet.

Couldn't agree more. I have no interest with meeting up 1-1, I'm there to see what is on offer.

Most certainly starting to get on my nerves... Being emailed over and over every day about similar things is a bit much.

I think someone at BETT mentioned it had been outsourced to another company - so perhaps they have KPIs to hit for participation. It is getting silly.

Do you think perhaps since pandemic they have seen less numbers showing up for the show and therefore trying to push it more.

I think more of a case of BETT looking for other opportunities to create more revenue streams - getting exhibitors directed down Connect@BETT as part of the package, but also to attract additional revenue by getting suppliers not exhibiting onboarded to the scheme.

The meeting schedules are very hard to adhere to for supplier and visitor - it's very easy to lose track of time at shows like BETT and also work out the time it takes to find, and get to, the meeting location.

Yeah it smacks of a way for the BETT organisers to take a cut of any business that ends up being procured as a result of these meetings, instead of it being all ad hoc like it was before.

I was getting so many "you've only get X days to get your free ticket" emails I was starting to question if I'd actually registered for one.

They only stopped for me, when I competed the form. I know Bett, you want me to connect with whoever, but you don't have to turn in to a spam bot to do it. If I didn't want to "connect" with someone before the email bombardment, I really don't now.

I complete the profile and listed the timings I would theoretically be available and confirmed/submitted the profile - which was a small box below the timetable. After doing that 2 days ago I haven't had an email reminder since - I was previously getting a few a day like you all. It could be a coincidence.

5th email now...

(Yea my BETT emails go to a different mailbox - Partly because of this) & yea I know I can just filter them out but they've gone nuts!

But has anyone been able to download or physically print a ticket?

resend my ticket just resends my login info to a place I'm already logged onto???

Not seen anything yet. Maye now we've passed "the last day to register for a free ticket" something will pop next week. And if they're going to send me 5 "reminder" emails a day maybe they could put out a map.

I asked them about this a day or two ago via the live chat on their site, and was told that tickets are being sent out around 2 weeks prior to the event itself.

I had a look at the "opt in meeting requests", thinking maybe if I just opt out of them they'll stop bugging me. The only options are "interested" or "very interested". Okay...

yep, and if you dont select any you get hounded. If you DO select some (but not all) then you still get hounded to keep selecting. Oh and it gets better, you also get told to select everyone from the company, not just the one that is relevent. I dont want to talk to the asian sales director for ASUS as they wont be able to help me so why should I request a meeting with them? Stupid system. Edited by KK20
