Hi all, I have been passed over an Access database that needs some modifications. It is a relatively simple database, and most of the modifications I have done. However, I need to now dump some of the data out into a word document, which I can partially do, however I don't have all the code required. I was hoping there might be some Access gurus on here that might be able to lend a hand / point me in the right direction I am aiming to: The database stored 'bookings' and has multiple tables with lookup data that all are matched in the bookings table. Ie. Students table, Tutors table, Rooms table and subjects table. I need to present all the bookings for a particular tutor or student in a grid 'timetable' view. I have created the timetable template in Word and I have inserted bookmarks in each cell. I currently have some VBA code that will dump a particular field into a particular bookmark area The Issue: There are three parts that I need some assistance with. 1. I need to be able to select a tutor's name (from a listbox preferably) and it only give me the bookings for that tutor. I can try and pull data from a query, however as it stands i've only managed to get it to prompt me for manual input of a name rather than look at a listbox and set that name as the criteria. 2. Only IDs are stored in the bookings table, the data I want to pull out is the actual friendly names, which are stored in the seperate tables. 3. I need to input the bookings into the correct cell in the table based on the timeslot that is selected. Ie. If the booking is put against timeslot: "Monday A Session 1", then it needs to go into cell with bookmark 'mon1_session1_subjectname'. I can do a lost of if else statements, but it's how do I get all the data together to take from? The database is attached if you wish to have a look: LFC LSA_Lauren Monks.zip At the moment I have none of the above functionality set up, and a few bits are broken (work in progress), but more so that you can have a better understanding of the database. Thanks in advance for any assistance! I haven't done any Access work for a few years, and I'm a bit rusty!

Hello, Our head of maths has presented an Excel spreadsheet he wants KS3 teachers to use to enter termly test percentage scores. Then Excel using various formulas, including standard deviation formulas will calculate and average for the test for each year group. This will be used to split the group into 4 quintiles and be compared with their KS2 to highlight which students are below, on or above target. This is to get away form using GCSE predicted grades in KS3 in SIMS Marksheets. I think it might work a little like this school's KS3 system: https://www.philipshigh.co.uk/target-settings/ except the Working Towards/Working At/Working Above/Exceptional grade boundaries will be calculated from the year groups' percentage test scores at the point of data collection on a subject by subject basis. My worry is managing this prcess and importing the needed data into SIMS for the parent reports and termly analysis. I don't think it is possible for a column in a SIMS Marksheet to calculate the standard deviation for a given test and then use this to calculate which students are on, below or above. I'm thinking I will need to learn Excel VBA to streamline this wherever possible. SLT want teachers to just enter the data directly into year group Excel files, and then I will have to import into SIMS for the reports. Can anyone please give their thoughts on this and any advice would be much appreciated? Thanks Mark

Hi, I'm building a userform on an Excel database and have come across some problems. I've got a listbox that displays records from the database when searched for in the customer name text box on the form. Unfortunately, you have to search for the full customer name for it to recognize and return the data to the listbox. I need help to edit the code so that you can either search for full or part customer name. (the reason you have to search for full customer name is that it uses the autofilter function!) The way the listbox works is to display records for customers if there is more than under the same name. I look forward to hearing your replies... Thanks

Hi all, I'm attempting to create a form in a database I'm designing that can be used to sort/filter and select records (and open said record in a new form) I have done this before, where it works fine, but i'm doing the same way this time and can't get it to work unfortunately. I've attached the database in question (using sample data atm) if anybody has a second to have a quick look? In summary, I have inserted a listbox into NavigationForm, and set the data to three fields from the External table. I have set the double click event to: Private Sub List6_DblClick(Cancel As Integer) DoCmd.OpenForm "ExternalForm", , , "ApplicationID = " & Me! [List6] End Sub On run, it prompts for an ApplicationID (although it should get this from the listbox. Not sure why it won't work External Database.zip

Hi All We have a group of users who need to be able to run the VBA Editor to do one specific thing. We already have an AD group that gives users the ability to run Macros in Word and PPT by enabling Macros through the Trust Centre. So I thought it would just be a case of adding the same setting to the Outlook bit and bingo. This has changed the trust centre setting. We have also enabled the Developer tab in the ribbon for this group but when they press the VBA Editor button nothing happens. Pressing ALT-F11 also doesn't fire it off. On checking the Add-Ins it turns out the VBA for Outlook Add-In is "disabled by the system administrator" Problem is I can't find where this is configured. From what I can tell the only way to disable specific add-ins in GPO is via the registry it would be really good if I'm wrong about that and there is a specific setting in a template that can be changed. When I logon as a user in that group there are no registry settings that I can find that specifically disable that one. There are some that are disabled this way and some that are enabled but not the VBA one. My questions are: 1) How do I find out where the add-in is being disabled? 2) How do I enable it just for this group of users? Office 2016 with O365 on Windows 10 for Education... TIA

This is becoming the bane of my life at the moment... I have always had trouble getting my scripts to work properly on SIMS generated Word XML files and them throwing an error because the reference to IndRepBaseTemplate.dot has been lost, but it seems things have gotten much worse since the latest update and many of my previous workarounds no longer work. Today I've come across the worst yet though: after exporting a batch of reports last night, today I can't open a single one of them. Each time, Word locks up and eventually closes and upon re-opening tells me that IndRepBaseTemplate.dot caused a serious error. Any body else had this issue? Better yet, any body found a way to fix it? I'm using Word 2010 in Windows XP Pro. So far, I have tried (all worked before last SIMS update but no longer help): Putting a copy of IndRepBaseTemplate.dot in the same folder as the exported reports Writing a VBA routine to stop IndRepBaseTemplate being loaded when the document is opened Loading up an Individual Report in SIMS (which in turn puts a fresh copy of IndRepBaseTemplate in my temp folder) PS: can anybody from Capita explain why IndRepBaseTemplate is needed in an exported report? I understand that when editing a template it is needed to add the context menus for adding aspects etc., but it does nothing but cause grief in the final document - surely you can find a way of removing the reference upon export? Even opening up a report in Linked Documents it throws an error!
