Anybody have any ideas on how to filter iCloud.com mail without filtering the whole of iCloud.com? The url for mail link seems to be icloud.com/#mail but haven't had any luck getting the filter to apply on SafetyNet Plus. All ideas welcome.

Staff returned ipad but had left the wrong pin code, she'd removed it from her icloud but as I can't use the ipad I'm stuck. how do I get the ipad working? it won't let me do anything including getting it on the web which would allow it to see that it's been disowned! ideas? the ipad says locked for 1 hour after power cycle as well which is annoying. The time and date are also wrong.

Since we have moved over to LGfL 2.0 services (Synetrix to Atomwide) we no longer have access to external email systems including: Gmail, iCloud, Yahoo from our mobile devices e.g. iPod Touches, iPads, iPhones etc. Hotmail is the only system which works, no doubt due to its similarity to the LGfL LondonMail. The policy to remove this access was decided by LGfL without any prior consultation with staff working in schools. It was possibly decided prior to the proliferation of mobile technology in the classroom. I intend to have this policy reviewed and hopefully reversed. If this policy affects your school or you anticipate that it will do so in the future then please email your contact at LGfL. If you simply agree that this should be re-enabled then please cast your vote in the poll. Thanks Julian Griffiths-Searle ICT Systems Manager Battersea Park School

Hi All, I've been doing some thinking lately about data protection and the use of auto-backup solutions such as iCloud, google backup, onedrive etc. Our staff members all have iPads. If their iCloud backup and photo backup is turned on, and they have any photos of our students on their iPad, those photos will be getting backed up to Apple's servers. The same goes for android/windows devices if their respective photo backup solutions are turned on ('on' seems to be the default setting). We also use a piece of safeguarding software which is accessed through any browser. Included in this software is the ability to upload files, such as case referrals etc. Obviously this is highly sensitive data. To view these uploads whilst logged in through a browser, you have to download them. I'm concerned that if users log in and do this on a mobiole device, their download folder may be getting backed up to an Apple/Google/Microsoft server without them even knowing it. I'm assuming in both of these situations, the GDPR guidelines for data protection would be broken. Does anyone have any further clarification on this? At the moment, I'm telling staff to turn off iCloud/photo backup. I'm also instructing them to only view the Safeguarding uploads on a school PC. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks!

Afternoon everyone! Our Music department are looking to set up file sharing within iCloud between students & staff but this option appears to be non-existent. They have tried sharing via link but only receive a 'Shared files/photos not available'. I have ensured that sharing within the organisation is enabled in Apple School Manager but this doesn't make a difference. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

With all the chit chat about who has the best service, I found this very comprehensive table that just shows facts, nothing more, nothing less. Hope this helps you decide which best suits you. (Source: From The Verge)
