We get emails from [email protected] but the emails get sent to some staff that no longer work at the school. Is there any way to get these names removed from whatever distribution list they are on?
-
Why not create groups for each year group and then share the shared drive to the group?

Nothing scheduled but we use Netsupport to shutdown machines from a central console at the end of the day.

We run Tasc INSIGHT Parent Portal and the .ldf file has grown to 83GB. Need to shrink it but I am not sure how. Should I do this through SQL Management Studio>Tasks>Shrink>Database? Or should I choose Tasks>Shrink>Files? Never done this before so some advice would be appreciated.

We have a couple of reports of computers randomly rebooting. We have been running Windows 10 since beginning of term. Same computers had Windows 7 on previously and we had no issues. Any ideas please?

If the switches are on the network can you not use the CLI to look at neighbours if you have identified the IP of some?

After taking ownership and resetting the permissions. Can I leave ownership as that or does it need to be the user as owner?

As it's home folders will that affect user access?

Is the only way to take ownership to do it manually? I was hoping to avoid taking ownership. I tried downloading ntfsfix but it wont install as it says it needs .net 1.1

We have a GPO which is redirecting documents to users home folders. Unfortunately we ticked "Grant User Exclusive Rights" and now we cannot get into users downloads, video or music folders as we don't have the rights. Reading online it appears that the only way to do it would be to take ownership of the folders. Is there any way around this? Is there a Powershell script that we can use to give Admins access again?

Is purchasing from Youtube permitted with G Suite for Education accounts?
fiza replied to fiza's topic in Cloud Services
Thanks. I've got google payments enabled but I still get the same message. -
Does anyone know if you can purchase Youtube videos using GSfE accounts? A teacher is trying to buy an episode of a TV show to use in a media lesson but gets " Purchases are not available. You can't make purchases on YouTube with your Google for Apss for Education account".Is this a setting or is it completely blocked by Google?I have turned on Google Payments but it made no difference.

My colleague @DeGrimmy did look into that but we don't really know how to tell. Any ideas?

Will check tomorrow about EXIF data. The issue is to do with safeguarding rather than homework. The DSL is suspicious as to what if anything is hidden in the black PNG files.

We have been asked to look at a Student USB that has images on it but all the images are coming up black. The DSL has asked us to look. The image size is 30000x30000 pixels for all images. Something very dodgy looking but we just cant decipher what is going on. Has anyone come across something like this before? Opening in Photoshop we can't see any layers but there is something not right.

How does ABE work for shared resources? Never used it before.

We had the Stone Engineer visit and he updated the BIOS. Since then the machines have booted up each morning with no issues.
