So i have now installed Endpoint verification on a couple of Windows machines. You need the Endpoint Verification Chrome Extension and a Native Helper msi to be installed. One big problem seems to be that once the extension is installed the logged in user has to agree to the extension sending info to the Admin Console. This is a big flaw!! Students will just click "Not Now". I would like it to be a forced "agree" as these are school owned computers so users should have no choice.

Ok - having spoken with Support, they are saying this is still rolling out and should be with us within the next 2 weeks.

I am trying to enable File Stream for authorised company devices only. According to this Google blog I should see a setting for "Only allow Drive File Stream on Authorised devices" but I don't see it in my Admin Console. Can someone else check please? What I see: What I should see:

No. It installs fine but still requires the user to click it and authorise.

Would love to know how to disable the authorisation requirement.

Yeh I imported my own machine but it doesnt start to sync until the user clicks on the extension installed on the PC and authorises it. That's the stumbling block as I would want to deploy it to over 600 machines. I don't want users to refuse authorisation.

I am currently looking at that too!! You can install an Extension and also download an msi helper. Problem is that nothing works until I click the extension and authorise it. I dont really want users to have to do this. As they are company owned devices there should be a way to force the sync without the user authorising it.

Restore data easily? Do you mean with revision. History or Vault or some third party backup solution?

I remember there was no way to stop users from installing File Stream away from school. Is this no longer an issue? Not knowing the state of home PCs Malware/Anti-Virus etc was a concern with a mapped drive directly to Google Drive. - - - Updated - - - I remember this being an issue a few years back and @Arthur coming up with a solution. - - - Updated - - - Can you also now dictate the drive letter it uses or is it still stuck on G?

Want to know if it's now time to look at Google File Stream again? We want to push staff to save more to the cloud and File Stream would be the ideal way. I know there were issues previously every time there was an update and the path changed. Ideally want to make the existing Staff area on our File Server read-only and push users to use File Stream and saving in Team Drives. What are peoples experiences of File Stream please?

At the moment there are 8 x 10G uplinks in use. The switch has 4 existing spare 10G ports and also an empty slot where another 10G module could go. According to my Google-fu the switch has a backplane speed of 346 Gbps. So still plenty of scope for expansion?

Currently have Ruckus system in main building. New block will be ready at the end of the year. Was thinking of Ubiquiti APs for the new build to save some money. Is it better to stick to one make for APs? I guess having 2 would mean 2 captive portals and 2 places to generate guest IDs. Any thoughts?

No issues with Ubiquiti Unifi switches and the Core HP switch talking to each other? edit: Are the Unifi switches stackable? If not then I would need individual fibre cables going back to the core.

For OM4 would I have to get a new module for my existing 5412zl switch? I have spare ports on the existing switch but these are currently working with OM3.

Did you have to do anything to get redirected start and custom tiles working with roaming profiles?

For those using Local Profiles do you then redirect Application Data? Do you delete local profiles occasionally to stop drives clogging up?

Not every port will be live so may end up with only 150-180 live including a couple of IT Suites.

We are having a new block built attached to the side of the existing building. There will be a comms room in the new block which will contain a rack with 284 ports coming in from all the rooms in the new block. This comms cab will then have OM3 fibres going back to the Core Switch in the main building. What is the consensus for switches? Should it be a Chassis Switch or 6 x 48 port stacked switches? The Core switch is an HP 5412zl Chassis switch. All the edge swtches are a mixture of various HP switches.

Does this mean they wouldn't even install?

We have always used roaming profiles with ever since XP days. Now looking at Windows 10 and reading that Roaming profiles, although supported in the short term could get deprecated in the near future. Also having problems re-directing Start Menu with roaming profiles so currently looking at using local profiles. I also read the UE-V may get dropped by Microsoft too. So the poll is to find out what people are using.
